Ha! How's this for a statement? "it was pretty bad for us because we had to go on silent count."

That's Green talking about San Diego's HOME game vs. the Steelers last fall. Thank you Steelers fans who went to that game and rocked the stadium! When you put the home team on a silent count, you own the stadium. :yeehaw:

Maybe Green could tweet that to Weddle........better yet call him and tell how "green" the grass is on this side..........

Apparently Green said he would try and sway him to come here.

Well, it looks like Bryant took himself out of that mix, unfortunately, but we do still have a talented group to keep out of the endzone, from inside the 20.

Guess we will need another "big wr", to replace Bryant.

On a side note, we have had a ton of talent up to this point, and have consistently struggled from the red zone...
    Hope we get that fixed.

I still agree Green sounds like a good pick up tho.
Just noticed in an article that he had ankle surgery in the off-season, but expects to be ready for camp.
Hopefully it was nothing too serious... Injuries always worry me...

    GO STEELERS!

I was a little irritated with this at first.
I know, I know- he'll be a great addition to the offense, especially with Heath gone.
But we desperately need corners/safeties. So I would've liked to have seen us spending the money on a quality corner....like Eric Weddle.
Now though- because of Martavis being a selfish piece of chocolate ice cream & failing another drug test- we're down a big offensive threat. So maybe the decision to sign Green wasn't so bad.
I just hope from now on we focus on the secondary.

Was the timing and function of the Green signing because they knew about Bryant?

It seems likely. He doesn't offer the downfield vertical threat that Bryant does, but he can be a big time red zone threat to replace Bryant's production in that area.

So we probably look at WR in the draft or try to keep Wheaton long term?

I don't know. I hate diverting a pick for a WR now but if we do, Braxton Miller is an interesting prospect. And he ran a 4.33 at his pro day, thats Bryant speed.

Yeah but IIRC, you were advocating taking him in the first, we also didnt have a need for another one at the time.

But I have seen him mocked as low as the 3rd because he is deemed a project since he only has 1 year experience at WR.

They said those stop watch forty times are always faster than electronic timing they use at the combine. Miller didn't look that fast at the combine to go from 4.5 to 4.3 not buying it.

Yeah, I dont know, I just figured that maybe he wasn't 100% at the combine with that much of a difference.

Joey Bosa improved his forty time too at his pro day, a little home cooking by the guy with the stop watch IMO.

Right cause at that time all the experts had Miller going in the 1st and I was saying if we wanted him he would have to be picked in the 1st and I got crushed for it...... Now I think maybe he might have slide down, hard to tell some mocks have him high some lower.

Nope on drafting a receiver, sammie coates is already here, a fast and big 6-2 receiver, who I expect will be a big asset to this offense this season....

They have to plan on life without Bryant, not going to be able to count on him. Wheaton is a FA next season, I don't think they will pay to retain him. Leaves AB, Coates and DHB. Need another one.

I wouldn't go out of my way to draft one, but if a guy is sitting there just begging to be selected we shouldn't shy away. I also think Shakim Phillips may be our next rags-to-riches story.
