Steelers Depot reported 3 years, 3.8 million, which is a no brainer if the reported numbers are accurate. Glad to have him back at that price.

    That deal is a bargain.

So rare to have a top end 1st round pick totally bust out, but turn himself into a valuable backup / special teams player willing to take near the vet minimum to continue to play for a contender.

    Nothing but respect for DHB.

3 more years for PWP's man crush! Another really good deal for us. He's a core ST'er and a decent back up WR. Can't go wrong at just over a mil a year.

That's at least 36 threads, by my count.

Anyways, I'm pleased. Can't really fault what DHB has done since he's been here in the grand scheme of things, and definitely a positive influence on the character of the WR corps.

Does this mean the end for Wheaton? Coates will be the 3-4 with DHB the 4.

That's a good question right there... Wheaton had had some good moments as of late, but hasn't really lived up to what I thought he was going to be at this point. Maybe this was his corner turning year? Hate to see him explode somewhere else, but can't keep em all. Interested in seeing what Coates can do consistently for sure

I hope not. Wheaton has a ton of potential. I'd hate to see them give up on him so quickly.

Good, I think he's got some really good potential to help make a difference, and I hope to see him keep improving.

Coates will be the 3 now. After his playoff showing I just can't see him being kept off the field. Wheaton played very well at times, but money is tight. Guess we will know for sure in a day or two

i think coates still has some learning to do and this move will help that along. DHB should become a much needed commodity on ST's and help ease coates into more playing time. as a receiver i believe DHB has gotten better under our receivers coach rich mann. we have a great 5 deep receiving corp for ben. his blocking can help ease some of the heath loss in the run game. not at the LOS but from the LB'ers back into the secondary.

    Good signing.

I like Coates down there in the red zone. Especially now with no Heath Miller. a big target down there.
