PITTSBURGH STEELERS CRUISE SHIP RESCUES STRANDED REFUGEES

Some Pittsburgh sports heroes turned into real life heroes for a group of people stranded in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico.

Pittsburgh Steelers player James Harrison was on board The Legends of Pittsburgh Cruise and he uploaded the pics to his Instagram Saturday. According to James, the ship stopped in the middle of the Gulf to rescue 16 people on a homemade raft.

It's unclear what happened to the refugees once on board ... but one thing's for sure, there's a good chance they'll become Pittsburgh fans.

The cruise started in Miami headed to Cozumel and Harrison's joined by teammate Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh Pirate Manny Sanguillen and Penguin Francois Leroux just to name a few.

Wow. Not what you would have expected if you signed up for that cruise, no?

The US Coast Guard in Miami, which said that it was not involved in any rescue effort, made clear that Mr. Harrison was merely a photographer, played no role in the rescue and would likely not mingle with the migrants.

There was a football player that was aboard the cruise ship who took some really good photos, but he wasn’t involved in the actual rescue. The Carnival cruise ship would never allow a passenger to engage with the migrants,” Petty Officer Jon-Paul Rios said today.

Haven't looked but can guess and it won't be tolerated here. Plenty of boards to go post those opinions on, this isn't one of them.

Doesn't appear from the photo that there appears to be a movie star, a millionaire, and his wife aboard.

It is Harrison after all. Goodell will fine him for taking the photos too hard.

They are reporting that they lowered Harrisson into the water to scare off any sharks looking for a easy meal during the rescue......
