Whatcha Listening To?

After hearing this song at the beginning of this week's episode of The Walking Dead, I realized I hadn't heard this song in a very long time, so I had to listen to some Boston.

 

I've been listening to Van Halen and Joe Satriani for the most part lately.

 

New Amon Amarth coming out soon (March 25th, Jomsviking) so had to give a listen to their new single. First Kill!

But seriously, I don't go out of my way to listen to music anymore. I did watch a special on TV a few weeks ago, The Who live in somewhere, England. Not the same without Entwhistle and Moon "the loon".

 

At the moment, I am listening to "And Justice for All", by Metallica...

It`s really weird, that I found this thread tonight..

The song "Eye of the Beholder", off that album popped in my head today at work,

So when I got home, I put that cd in my computer...

(I usually just listen to an internet "Classic Rock" station...)

And I forgot that I usually leave Windows Media Player on "random"...

So, I expected to hear "Backened"(the 1st song on the album)...

And, "Eye of the Beholder" started playing...

It took me a minute to notice, since I was balancing my checkbook, at the time,

But, I thought it was a cool kouwinkadink, so, I kept listening to the album..

Man, It`s been a long time, since, I just relaxed, and listened to that album(in random order)...

Then I found this thread...

I tend to agree with Towel`s playlist...

I`m eclectic...

Mostly old rock and metal, my gf`s got me listening to country, and I`ve always liked
old school rap, and Kid Rock, some Eminem...

I love the diversity of tastes here!!!

Cracks me up, when I hear members referencing songs I would never expect them to know...

I think Minor Threat was pretty influential to some of the stuff Slayer put out. At least early Slayer, who, coincidentally, had a bootleg live album released under the name "Butcher Babies".

 

Never gave Porcupine Tree a listen, but I think my tastes have evolved to appreciate some prog rock/metal from what they were 10-15 years ago, when I was buying most of my collection. I think it's time for me to check them out.

 

Minor Threat is the band that CM Punk took his whole schtick from. The "straight edge" lifestyle and all that. I live that lifestyle as well but have never even heard of them until him. I'm just a baptist. Lol.

 

So the exact opposite of this "baby killer" talk, lol! Instead of taking life, you give .

 

Personally if someone wanted to take a lesson from Ian Mackaye it wouldn't be his choice of being "straight edge", but rather his DIY ethos. He co-founded Dischord Records, produced various artists, worked in/on films, books etc.
