I say Fanneca does but Greene doesn't. I WANT him too because he's one of my favorite players but he seems to always be the proverbial bridesmaid. I hope he does get in someday. This year is just too stacked.

Apparently Marvin Harrison and Tony Dungy are in (according to Irsay) and Terrell Owens didn't make it.

Well, it seems to be the theme of the steelers and hof inductees. You know that they're gonna get in...but the question is, how long will they have to wait. Greene had to wait like Betti's but finally made it in. Faneca, don't give up hope...in 3yrs you will be in. Then you will have to lobby for ward but I think polamalu gets in 1st ballot

I think some of the writers don't like to vote our guys in right away cause we have so many. I can kinda understand it, don't like it but oh well.....next year! This was a pretty tough class as well.

Dungy is a stretch, but then again there is some who were enshrined that never had the stats or credentials to be enshrined, michael irvin comes to mind, and here is a list of 17 who this author says shouldnt be there, warning, he has stallworth and swann on this list:

The Dungy thing is confusing. One Super Bowl. .668 winning percentage (thanks, Peyton -- only .562 with Tampa) but only a 9-10 post-season record and 1 Super Bowl win. I never really thought of him as a great coach. A good coach, yeah. But Hall of Fame? He's similar to Donovan McNabb for me. Really good player, but not really Hall of Fame material.

Mike Tomlin currently has a .639 winning percentage, a winning post-season record (6-5) and 1 Super Bowl win.

I think Dungy got a lot of praise for being 'the first black . . . ', being a nice guy, etc. If Tomlin continues at his current pace and finishes with numbers comparable to Dungy, does Tomlin get in?

Despite any disagreements with Dungy's selection, he should probably be celebrated more in Steeler nation than Kevin Greene.

Dungy is a Steeler through and through. Played for us and was given his first coaching job by Chuck Noll. Served as his Defensive Coordinator from 1984-1988 (and was the DB coach for three years prior to that).

He credits Chuck Noll with his success as a coach. I recall several interviews where he shrugged off references to his creation of the 'Tampa 2' defense and accredited that philosophy to Noll and BudCarson. Here is an article I dug up that speaks into that:

Player, coach, mentor,Tampa 2,and sports analyst....excel at all. Just because he has a quiet demeanor...doesn't mean that he hasn't made a great impact in the league

Just to add a bit to what I was speaking into the other day about how we should appreciate Dungy's induction probably even more than Greene's, this is what I mean:

    http://www.steelersdepot.com/2016/02/donnie-shell-chosen-to-induct-tony-dungy-into-the-hall-of-fame/

I wouldn't be surprised to see Dungy push for Shell the way Swann did for Stallworth.

Irvin was a great player. He absolutely should be in. His performances against Deion are a big indicator of how good he was.

Cowboys were a very conservative team with an offense centered on Emmitt and their OL.

Irvin got a lot of targets but not by today's standards.

In NFL playoff history Irvin was 5th in receptions, 2nd in yards and 13th in TDs.

Yes he was on a great team but he definitely left his stamp on the game and Rice, Irvin and Sharpe were the 3 best WRs of the 90s IMO. I'd take Irvin over Carter or even Brown any day.
