Interesting he didn't specifically mention "Restructure" for Timmons. It was either paycut or get id of him.

I dont know why everyone wants a Corner over a Safety, if worse comes to worse we can throw bodies at the CB position ...provided we resign a few our CB's. If one of our starting safeties goes down we are toast.

I like his quote that Art Rooney should ban all trades after the trades Colbert made this past year.

He writes off Cortez, but I would like to give him one more shot in camp/preaseaon.

 

C. Allen was given a big payday before he proved anything, just like Antonio Brown.

One of them went on to put together tremendous work ethic leading to the best numbers a Steeler has ever had at the wide receiver position.

The other one contracted knee issues after being totally unprepared for the level of play he was expected to achieve resulting in embarrassing results on the football field.

It's time to move on. He's not had any real experience in 2 years. This isn't the same caliber of player that Spence was coming off his reconstructive surgery pushing himself to get back out there and contribute.

BTW: Thought the second to last comment he made was in poor taste and not funny at all.

 

Expect more of the same from the CB position until they invest in a CB with great man to man skills. They are not going to change the "tackle the catch" philosophy until an athlete is on the field for them who can create some turnovers by pressing/reacting. Big Play Willie Gay seems to be the only one they give leeway. Or they trust his experience.

As for corner vs safety, that's a tough one. Both need upgraded, I think everyone can agree. Guess it will depend on how the draft plays out and who is available when. I think the questions of Golden being a starter are just as big as Golson coming in at the slot and Cockrell being the other outside starter. We've seen glimpses of both (except Golson) but nothing as full time starters. Depth is a question for all of the defense except ILB imo.

 

Jesus people are just dumb. The one guy insisting if Ben would have been skinnier that he wouldn't have been sacked by Burfict but the best was being troy back to play safety and RETURN PUNTS!

 

Agree. I'm not a fan of Bouchette for comments like this and other ways he comments to his readers. I don't live in Pittsburgh, but I used to read the post gazette and trib live sites just to see what they had and see if they had any insider input. I never really found much on either accord and Bouchette in particular turned me off to PG. Just my two cents, sorry for the rant

 

I've done several of his chats before. Bouchette is an OK guy, but if you ask stupid questions you get one word or stupid answers.

 

I guess I've hit my limit of free surfing on the Gazette...says I hit my monthly limit and need to subscribe to read...

Bye bye Cortez Allen, scrub. Enough of this patchwork secondary. And for him to say they would might bring back Blake just gave me a headache. Addressing the secondary is the main focus this offseason as far as i'm concerned. Take a look at the Defenses in the Super Bowl. Balanced. The Steelers Defense is not balanced. It needs to be to contest for a Championship.
