Well, he brought balance to the force after years of dark side dominance! So even if he's too old, he MUST be trained!

Agree, even if in jedi language Haley is not a Master (where D Lebeau should be some kind of Yoda), any ewok will be an improvement over our former jawa OC Arians

Let's not give Haley too much credit. In Arizona he had a future HOF QB and finished with 8-8 and 9-7 records and 12th/4th in offensive total yards in the NFL> which was better than 17th and 21st which we were, but not exactly a ringing endorsement that he's a Joe Philbin or Sean Payton.

I like Haley for his passion, but Jackson sure did have one year of good offensive production until the injury bug hit them

With all the rumors and stuff going on about Haley you would think that he would be on his best behavior with us. He is still young and I'm sure he still has aspirations of becoming a HC again somewhere. While maybe his HC ability may leave a little to be desired ,he has been a successful OC, which is all he would be for us. I'm sure he's looking to restore his coaching reputation and he certainly has all the tools in place to make a big statement.

Pretty sure that since his work phone is owned by the chiefs they can do any sort of monitoring they want on it. If they bugged a private line then that would be different.

Not sure about Haley. I think we need a guy Ben will respect enough to listen to him, but not someone he doesn't respect and will fight with. I can just see a fight on sidelines between him and Ben.

Guys just don't like Haley. I know Boldin has prima donna tendencies, but Boldin didn't like him in AZ.

I'm not even sure the entire Chiefs team liked Haley the way they rallied around Romeo.

First off, Tomlin_Era, that is the best animated gif I think I have ever seen.

I don't think it's going to be Haley. Pittsburgh likes to invest in long-term solutions and if Haley has a couple of successful years as the OC, he'll probably jump at the first opportunity to move back up to the HC.

Was Van Pelt not around training camp a few years ago? I seem to remember there being talk of bringing him in - the discussion was whether he could help improve the no-huddle offense - but I can't think of when and where it happened.

If Haley doesn't get the job, it will be because Tomlin feels threatened by him. He's a type A, hard charging personality which is exactly what our offense needs. But if Tomlin feels threatened and uncomfortable with him, I doubt that Rooney will "force" him to hire Haley. I really believe that Rooney is looking for a "head coach" of the offense which is something that we are sorely lacking. We've pretty much got a "head coach" of the defense in DL. I hope it gets done quickly.
