At any point in the game Did anyone ever feel like we had control of it?

    I agree- seconds before the fumble, when he got the first down, I felt that they would score on that drive and that would be it.

    Nope, a friend texted and asked what I think? My reply " Not liking how close this game is, one mistake spells DOOM "

    No.
    • We were losing the field position battle (badly);
    • Several Broncos dropped passes without defensive pressure;
    • Our run game wasn't developing, which put the offensive burden on Ben's injured shoulder.
    • Never had a lead greater than 4pts -- and it was 1pt for most of the game; and
    • I knew the altitude would take its toll in Q4.
    Oh, but I was so hopeful!!!

    Mmm. I never feel like the Steelers are in control no. And the outcome is never certain until the last few minutes.

    This team doesn't convert on 3rd downs consistently enough to maintain drives and control the game in the 2nd half.

    Many drives last fewer than 3 minutes. The other team usually gets at least 3-5 possessions in the 4th.

    Always exciting haha.

    The entire game felt like we were one play away from busting the game wide open. And we were.

    We lost 2 TDs (or at least 2 very good chances at TDs) due to the refs stuffing their hands in their pockets. We lost a key 3rd down conversion for the same reason. So it's hard to say if maybe we could have seized control earlier and those were our chance to run away with the game. Of course, we just as easily could have relaxed, and allowed Denver to come roaring back. Hindsight isn't even 20/20 in this case. But through it all, we had our chance to win.

    And just when it seemed we were about to finally break the game open, fumble.

    I never doubted we would win until that fumble. Soon as the ball hit the ground, I knew we lost. And frankly, bad non-calls or no, we only have ourselves to blame. The game was ours. We didn't finish.

    New story about the VA
    Checking in I turn around and this guy is standing there with a Ravens Jacket like mine. I was getting ready to insult him and he said, damn, you guys had the Broncos Saturday So I didn't insult him. He said he bet on us. Posting a pic of the jacket I had on. I paid $65 It is that fau-leather stiff and is real warm. I wear EX large shirts but the jacket I got is a "med" They are on clearance now for $34 so if you want one guys. 6 left http://www.hsn.com/shop/pittsburgh-...gh-to-low&skip=60&take=60&page=2&scroll=false

    Edit that Med is almost too big on me. I am 6 feet tall and weigh 198 So take it from there is anyone is interested

    I thought during the game we had control. I thought if we could score another touchdown we would win. I also thought if Denver ever got the lead we would lose. If we would of scored before the infamous fumble by our running back we would of won.

    It never felt like our lead was safe. It just seemed the Broncos were about to break free for a TD and that we needed a long TD drive first. It looked like that might happen before the fumble. The D seemed to fold right after the fumble, after playing an outstanding game up to that point. On the Steelers final possession I would have liked to see Ben try some longer passes instead of short three yard gains that put us in danger of not getting the first down. Oh well, next year Steelers will be very strong with their top two picks being in the defensive secondary.

    I won't say I thought we had it in hand with the score being so tight, but I was much less... panicky, I guess? I didn't have the same level of emotion as I seem to so often in these close games. Game in hand? Didn't necessarily feel that way, but felt a lot less sure there was an impending disaster than usual (lesson learned).
