Ben has lost his magic

and that's saying something coming from this guy

 

Love Ben and I'm glad the Steelers have him. In 2 playoff games, the offense scored only 2 TD and he had 1 passing. There's something wrong there and they can't win with those results. He's great at the long ball, but not so much at taking what the defense gives him. Steelers won more, when he was a game manager, not so much when he puts up the prolific stats. Not killing on him, but that's my observation.

 

I don't think Ben got much help from Haley with the playcalling, enough already with the WR bubble screens not effective against a fast defense like Denver wasted downs. There was another drive when they ran the ball 3 straight times, went nowhere and had to punt with big fast WRs like Coates and Bryant slant patterns might be more effective than bubble screens.

 

Not defending the OP, but I can see an argument for finding the open receiver and taking what's there v. trying to force something. Not sure if Ben ever had *that* kind of magic, though...

 

What?? The only reason we had ANY chance of winning this game was because Ben was on the field. You are just flat out WRONG on this one.

Ben has to get rid of the ball on that 4th down play in the 4th qtr, you can't take a sack there. He needs to move the pocket instead of letting the pass rush get to him like that.

 

Maybe not magic per-se but I've seen him pull a play or two out of his butt a few times. Ta-Da
