I feel bad for the young man. Bettis did the same thing years ago in Indi and Franco Harris fumbled twice in a playoff game back in '75. Those things happen sometimes.

That's the way this game works - hero to goat, goat to hero... It happens. He helped us past the Bengals, so he gets a pass for now.

I like the guy and hope he is on the team next year. Wouldn't mind seeing him get a chance to return punts who knows maybe it would work out and maybe it won't but I would like to see us give it a try.

Fumbles happen but you lose as a team. Ben took us to the Superbowl 10 years ago and played like crap in the big show, but we won that game. This time the ball didn't bounce our way, no biggie. We over came a ton of injuries that would have killed lesser teams including the patriots, hopefully next year we can do a better job of staying healthy and a big part of that will be to take out that idiot bungle barfidiot.

Maybe he shouldn't have been carrying the ball like an idiot.

How many running backs have never fumbled the football?

He seemed hesitant on that play the hole was open.

I don't feel Toussaint is to blame. Certainly his fumble contributed but the turnover difference was -1.

So that drive was a failure... what about the other 13 drives that produced 16 points.

Exactly. Franco Harris fumbled 90 times in his career.

I am not gonna rag on this kid. He played his ass of in Cincinnati, and was having a decent day today. Stuff happens. The fact that he cares SO MUCH speaks volumes to his character and should put a little fire under him for the offseason training and next season. Who knows. Might be the next great Steeler? Time will tell.

Bell almost never fumbles. One of his best attributes for sure.

Yeah when he was going to make contact with the defender he tried to go backwards and go around the defender instead of lounging forward for the first down that allowed the defender to punch the ball out.

Unless you play for the Patriots during the deflated era.

Ben-Jarvus Green Ellis: 0 fumbles in 4 years with the Pats, 5 fumbles in 2 years with the Bengals.

Sorry - just had to get that one in.

I'd like to know why Todman didn't see the field. He was the more aggressive runner against the Bengals. No doubt in my mind he hits that hole and gets the 1st, the one Toussaint was dancing and looking around in. My guess - Toussaint made that catch last week and Tomlin "trusted him" So much for that...

I think it may have had something to do with the fact that when given the chance tonight, he ran backwards for a loss of five yards when we were almost in FG range.

... Not sure your "FG range" definition matches Coach T's FG Range definition.

Oh that was Todman? Yeah, that was bad. I stand corrected. Play call was pretty bad too.

Bell has 1 fumble in over 650 carries.

Bell hasn't fumbled since his rookie year.

Bell does not carry the ball off his body as he is being hit.

The Steelers RBs had 2 fumbles in the last 2 games or double what Bell has had in his career.

My point was Bell being injured had an effect on tonight's one turnover.

Kind of like AB not being in to field punts- sure AB could muff 3 punts in a row... it isn't impossible... but it's pretty bloody unlikely.

Or do you think AB muffs 3 punts in a row? Do you think Bell fumbles in back to back games?

False! Todman did not run backwards for a loss! Todman ran in a perfect circle for a loss! Haha.

No I don't think AB muffs 3 in a row (but stranger things have happened)
Bell probably dosent fumble in back to back games (but could)
Just saying that Fritz is not the goat here. Lots of opportunities wasted on the night as a whole.
Was gonna be a tough game to win with injuries, and I think we played pretty damn well, all things considered.
Truly believe that if osweiller played, it might have been even tougher on our D

The hole was huge and one fault he has was he looks slow in hitting the hole when open. If that was Bell, DW, or even Todman that play would of been a huge gain.

Seems like a stand up young man. I feel badly for him, but his fumble cost us the game. You MUST protect the ball in that situation. We're driving for a score that may have iced the game for us. In an instant, the momentum shifted and we were on the losing end.
