If you search my posts on this site you'll realize I'm a hardcore sports better. I literally spend a good chunk of my life researching everything to do with sports betting. I doubt you're one of the few people on earth who research and/or bet more than I do. So don't tell me that due to your knowledge of the game and sports betting that you know more than I do about the game being rigged.

For it to be rigged, someone would need to benefit. If it's just one ref looking to benefit on his betting, fine, I will give you that one. That one is more than possible and probably has happened at times in all sports. But one ref/ump cannot control the outcome of a game without it being painfully obvious that he's attempting to control the outcome, especially in the NFL. In basketball it would be a little easier, but it would be almost impossible in the NFL. The ref would be lucky to affect the outcome of 1-2% of games, hardly enough to affect his betting returns.

If multiple people are benefiting, then multiple people are aware of the conspiracy, which is always where those things break down. People can't keep their mouths shut and it only takes one person to either have a conscience or slip up.

There's also the theory of the higher ups ordering the refs to fix a game for various reasons. Please tell me you don't believe this is actually happening and nobody has said anything?

ps. See how easy it is to reply to someone without attacking them? You're lucky this site has very forgiving mods/admins, you would have been banned from other sites I'm on for attacking a mod like you did.

I don't know why you even had to bring fixing games into the post. You could have started with PART 2.

About 8-10 years ago back in the days of the old ESPN boards, I used to be a regular visitor/contributor to the Bengals MB. I was very respectful, didn't troll (much) and was one of a handful of Steelers fans that they actually liked. And what I took away from that time over there is that those guys were probably the most delusional, out of touch, homeristic, bunch of fans in the NFL. In fairness every team has this type of fan, but in Cincinnati the percentage is at least quadruple of not quintuple the average.

Fast forward to this week and I got sucked into the Bengals Message board vortex again. And let me tell you NOTHING has changed. They are in denial about everything. There is even a very large contingent who actually believe Pac Man when he says the AB was faking his concussion. Here is a thread four pages deep defending Pac Man after one of the few rational Bunghole fans called him out. Now I can respect having differ opinions of whether or not a flag should have been thrown, but to suggest that he's acting after that hit? Wow. Pure idiocy. Even when the rew rational ones try to talk sense into them, they still don't get it. :lolol:

And here's another defending Burfict's knee to Roethlisberger's shoulder. "That vine looks choppy. Must be edited"

If you do happen to venture over there, go to the "Smack Talk" section, that seems to be the home of some of the more rational Bengal fans. Fitting though, "Smack Talk" is actual real talk and the regular board is Delusional Land.

He wanted to show why it couldn't possibly be rigged in the Steelers favor, and was far more likely to be rigged for Cinci.

But I agree it was unneeded and only muddied the waters.

I don't believe games are rigged (even if I rail against one sided calls and suggest favoritism at times. That's not the same thing.) Certain teams and individual players in ALL sports get favorable treatment for whatever reason. It doesn't mean it's rigged. I doubt the NBA rigged it so Michael Jordan could get all of his rings, for example.

But it's easy for the conspiracy theory minded to connect dots that aren't there. Quite simply, show me proof. Not conjecture. Not speculation. Not anecdote. Proof.

I rarely ever post on this site, I choose to spend most of my time reading and enjoying the posts of others. Every once in a while I read a post that just makes me scratch my head and I feel like adding my voice to the conversation. I have read through the "evidence" the original poster in this thread provided, and I must say I am in agreement with the responses that refute the "facts" the research supposedly presents. I do not bet on sports, not because I have any problem with betting, but because I do not have the time to put into making an educated bet. I work with research all day long, research is what I do, and the most important rules of research is data is only as good as its source. The sources you provided are not trusted vetted sources, and do not hold any value in supporting an argument. Even more importantly, they are based on opinion and conjecture. Your "facts" are not facts at all.

Damn it, I just got sucked into peeking over there again and THIS is an actual post. So this poor delusional soul suggests that the Steelers might actually hold Brown out of the Broncos game even though he's ok, just so they don't look bad because Pac Man called them out? I told you it's the land of unicorns and pixie dust over there.

I checked to see if Part 1-3 was available in Books on Tape or Cliff Notes and it's not. Bummer. All I can say is Mr Blart - the Mall just called and you're late for your shift.

Just Stay away from that mess over there. They swear that the team has been bullied for years and Burfict is the Knight in Shining Armor who's come to deliver them from being "Bullied"!

I hate that damn word more than anything now. Evryone is being "bullied" if they can't beat someone else at something and it's just fine to act like an assclown with after the whistle crap thereby becoming the "bully" that you've despised for years......

Apparently taking the high road and not calling a team out for being unprofessional and dirty to the media is considered "being afraid" of Burfict and the Bengals because they'll take out players with questionable hits if you keep beating them on the field....

    No logic over there!
