This guy is totally out of control and he needs to be banned from the league for intentionally trying to maim and injure other players. I agree with Boomer Esaiason, Burfict needs a psychological evaluation!

β€œHe told me to watch my knees, and then the next play, I was coming around to pull and he tries to cut me,” DeCastro said. β€œI actually see him doing it, so I go down, too. We hit each other low. And then he gets up and spits in my face.”

Nothing is going to get through to this guy until you take away his only ability to make money. Its completely lost on him that if you take football away, hes flipping burgers or a criminal. 3 game suspension wont do it either, kick this clown out of the league before he maims or kills somebody.

Bingo. They are so scared of doing the unprecedented, it kills me. I was watching PTI the other day, and they were debating if three games was an appropriate suspension. It went something like,

K: "It seems like too much, but... I actually am okay with three games."
W: "I'll tell you what, and get ready to be shocked... I'd be okay with four games."
    K: "FOUR?!?!"

I'm like, "What are you guys talking about? He is open that his goal is to ruin and/or kill other players, throw him OUT!"

I don't know what's worse, the fact they're scared of doing something that seems like too much, even though it means guaranteeing more brutal injuries (possibly life-lasting ones), the fact they're scared the players' union will fight them on it, or the fact they're probably right about that. I hate the way players band together for a player when it's at everybody's expense. As if I needed another reason to hate Deion Sanders.

Just doing some research on Burfict, I came across this line:

"His father, a gang member and convicted cocaine dealer, was incarcerated most of the time and never had a relationship with his son".

So this stuff is ALL genetic. We should not be surprised by any of his traits

Dude, this guy took out our big three... Ben, Brown, and LevBell.

Makes you wonder if this was his goal all along going into the season?

Well, I'm thinking that sometime next year he draws a year suspension, now that he's under league scrutiny. The POS can't help himself.

Can you imagine running a business in corporate America the way the nfl is run. There would be no business to run. These people that are the top dogs or decision makers of the league are a joke.

Maybe, but that's the best-case scenario, and it's sad that a best-case scenario will require a severed ACL or permanently damaged brain.

It's like watching a car crash into a crowd intentionally, and there are people that could stop it, but don't.

Burfict sometimes reminds me a little of Joey Barton, Rhys.

Though I think Burfict is more of a bona fide psychotic.

First of all, slow down a little bit with your genetic ****. Being a cocaine dealer and a gang banger is not genetic. Having an absentee father is not genetic. A lot of guys out there have had no father figure in their lives and they turned into absolutely great people who made great fathers. Don't start lumping millions of people into the same category.

Burfict is a lot of things, but none have anything to do with genetics. He's likely who he is due to his upbringing, which I'm sure wasn't the greatest (seems to be a common theme for NFL and NBA players).

Certain mental illnesses can be genetic/hereditary. But it's a wide leap to assume it in the case of that quote.

Burfict is clearly mentally unstable. Yes, upbringing, gang culture, etc. all play into it. But if he was the son of a wealthy business man from the suburbs, he'd still be unstable. It would just manifest differently.

I'm surrounded by people with mental illness every day I go to work. There is absolutely no proof Burfict is suffering from any kind of mental illness, let alone clearly mentally unstable. Far too often people associate mental illness with violent tendencies, which is untrue in almost every case of mental illness. Burfict is an angry, violent guy who can't accept responsibility for his actions. That's all it is. Blaming mental illness is a way to defend his behaviour. That's basically saying he can't help himself. I'm sure a lot of other fans said similar things about James Harrison once upon a time (and no, I'm not comparing the two whatsoever). There's no signs of mental illness, just another violent, spoiled athlete, nothing more.

Obviously most people suffering from mental illness are not violent. That wasn't what I meant to imply at all.

I'm not the only one questioning his mental health. Maybe he's just an evil person. But wouldn't it be prudent to have him examined anyway? His behavior is far from the norm.

I have no issues with having him examined, although I doubt the CBA allows such a thing, I doubt the NFLPA would agree to it, I doubt Burfict would agree to it and I'm also not sure what good it would do. Lets say he is diagnosed with some form of mental illness, what then? He's not going to be banned from the NFL due to the diagnosis, that would be a lawsuit waiting to happen. I guess at that point a treatment plan could be implemented, but again, that diagnosis might not have anything to do with his on the field behaviour. It may change nothing in terms of his NFL career. Also, there's no cure for mental health issues, there's only treatment, which is often unsuccessful or only mildly successful.

I just don't see any evidence of mental health issues, from what little we've seen on our TV's.

I've also always considered it an enormous conflict of interest for the player's association to try and get a player out of trouble for purposely trying to hurt another player. Just ridiculous really. He tried to hurt Cam Newton and Greg Olsen's ankles. He KNEED Ben in the shoulder that had just been separated on a tackle. He headhunted on AB. Then this DeCastro thing. It's just unbelievable that they would try to get this guy's suspension reduced when video evidence is clear that he's a thug who should be returned to whatever zoo he escaped from.

The old school way of handling Burfict would be to fight fire with fire. We'll see what happens next season.

The fact that this comes from "Pastor" Bob makes it twice as funny. @TerribleTowelFlying@TerribleTowelFlying is there anyway we can give more than one rating. This deserves 2 at least.

There were 3 games this season. If something was going to happen, it would've. But you're right that the players need to deal with this idiot themselves rather than waiting for the NFL to do it for them. They either take him out, or keep crying about his body count.
