I don't know if there has already been a thread on this, but I feel like this might be the elephant in the room. What do we do? Personally, I don't know how you get rid of Boswell after the year he's had while also not knowing the certainty of Suisham's future. On the other hand, Suisham is a fan favorite and has given us so much over the last 4 years or so. Whats the plan? Who do we keep?

Suisy was the man and I'm greatful for his stability but the Wizard of Boz is the answer to me. His league is huge and I don't see him going from 4-4 and the game winner in the playoffs to falling apart the next year.

Keep the best one and trade the other to the Vikings.

I like Suisham, but there's no way we get rid of Boswell.

Blair Walsh was one of the most accurate kickers in the NFL this year. But, he misssed an easy one at the worst possible time.

Boswell will be a Steeler next season. In the NFL they look for:
    A.) Younger
    B.) Cheaper
C.) Someone who gets it done.

Mr. Boswell fits all three of those criteria.
Plus you never know how Susisham will be with a healing knee. It might affect his game and he might not be the same again.

They only way I see this not happening is that we lose on a miss to end a game or something.
Then the fans will get out the pitch forks.

That would be ideal to gain back the 7th rounder we gave up to get Josh Scobee.

Who cares ? I mean we will cross that bridge next training camp. Right now we only have Boswell...and we got Denver to worry about. Lets worry about whom to keep next July.

My vote is for the Boz.

If the team could keep both on the roster for pre-season and maybe 1 or 2 weeks in the regular season, you know they could get a draft pick out of Suisham. If they can get a draft pick beforehand, all the better. Some teams don't want to battle with other teams at the waiver wire.

They will both be at camp but Bos will be the one they keep. Both are good kickers but Bos is cheaper.

It's an easy choice for me. Boswell. His ability to kick into the end zone on KO's is much better than Suisham's ability ever was.

Boswell has a 15 yard stronger leg, is just as accurate and is cheaper. I don't think it's up for debate. Do you want somebody that has the ability to kick 50+ yarders at Heinz Field or someone who has to be 45 and in before he's comfortable? Do you want somebody who consistently kicks it out of the endzone or somebody that bangs it to the 5 yard line? To me, Boswell has settled the debate with his outstanding performance this season. Kid seems to have ice in his veins too!

Actually this isn't true. I remember posting something a month or more ago showing touchback statistics for all NFL kickers. I don't remember which thread it was, but I'm too busy watching to BCS Natty game to look it back up. Basically what it said (thru whatever week it was at the time) that Boswell kicked a fewer percentage of kickoffs for a touchback than Suisham did in 2014-2015. Boz had already the 3rd most kickoffs returned in the league despite not being on a NFL roster for the first few weeks.

with that said, I still go Boswell. It's hard to pick the guy who is older, more expensive, and coming off an ACL injury. Plus Bos has done a really good job kicking this season. He earned himself a job next year regardless of who it is for. I hope it's us.
