Grad will be released most likely. Landry will be the number 2 moving forward.

LMAO Blast I want to rate the post but I want to disagree and mark hilarious... :) Let me just say I am not basing my post off one pass last night but overall. Other then the Card game what has Jones done in 3 years here? I want to say this after 3 years he should be a serviceable back up and I feel he is not. I also don't want to spend a top pick on a qb but I am sure we could find one in the 4th or 5th. Also let me say this just because we have other needs doesn't mean to ignore this one. Qb in the NFL is the single most important position and if you don't have guys that can play you will be drafting in the top 15 every year.

Yea I don't think he should be Ben's replacement.
He can manage an offense ok- but I don't want to settle for that & we shouldn't have to. I know we're not gonna find another Ben... But we need someone who's going to work hard & make plays.
I started a thread about when we should get a replacement. Someone said about getting someone when he retires. I likes that idea & trading someone/draft picks to get a good QB. As I said then, I don't watch much college football so I don't know who would be a good prospect for us & when they'll be available. I just hope we don't have to go through another Kordell or Tommy Maddox situation.

    :lolol:

I didn't think he was terrible in the KC game, KC has a very good defense. Have to keep things in perspective, your back up QB isn't going to perform like a starter, otherwise they wouldn't be back ups. He shows a command of the playbook and can make all the necessary throws and shows poise. You say what has he done in three years but what did you expect him to do the previous two years that Ben played every game? He has improved and I feel will keep improving.

Also, we may only have 4 draft picks this year :smiley1:

He has had his chance and has proven he is not worthy to be in the NFL, much less on our team. He is worthless.

Fair enough I see you point and I some what agree, however Jones has not played good in the last 2 preseasons and it isn't like he don't have talent around him. He is coming into an offense that is top in the league, some of the best players in the NFL. I guess I expect more progress.

Backups are backups for a reason. You will never find a backup that's gonna step in and not miss a beat at QB..... Landry showed that he is serviceable. Unfortunate pic last night, but the weather didn't help matters.

I hear what you're saying. I just think running all the time wasn't going to work. It would've been pretty much auto 3 and out. Now we didn't do anything throwing it either, but I'm okay with calling a little more aggressively. Still gotta try to get some points and win instead of just trying to chew clock and hope the D stands up.

I'm not saying you're wrong. It definitely could've worked, I just don't hate the coaches for thinking Landry could succeed throwing it. He's shown it more often than not this season that he can do it.

Agreed and I am not saying Landry needs to be Ben cause if he was then we would have problems and he would be gone in FA. Nor do I expect him to play like BB but I do expect him to "manage" this offense. Now listen I am not trashing on him cause last night that was bad conditions. What bothered me about last night was the decision to throw into triple coverage, that is not managing that is forcing.

I think LJ can be a capable backup, but I don't see him as a legitimate successor to Ben. At one time, I had hopes that he could be but I've seen enough this year to make me change my opinion. He's just okay, nothing special.

Our receivers don't seem to fight for the ball, or block downfield, like they did before. [Like when we had Hines.]

The defense played well enough to post a shut out. If the offense would of scored touchdowns instead of field goals this would of been a blow out.

AJ isn't back up talent, he'll be a starter in this league, either he will take Daltons job or leave when he is a free agent.

My point was a lot of teams passed on him that could use him as a starter. Inspite of their dirty play, the Bungles have put together a nice roster. They were prepared for their QB going down better than we were. Plus, they had injuries to their secondary and the Steelers couldn't take advantage. Kudos to their backups, who are likely better than Blake.

Landry reminds me a bit of Mike Kruczek who was picked in the 2nd round. Pretty good at times but a career back-up.

I agree they were better prepared and I think AJ is definitely better then Jones but its not exactly fair judging Jones when he hasn't gotten to play consistently like AJ has.

I don't think Landry Jones has the arm for even a back up QB in the NFL. I would even say he may have the weakest arm in the NFL.

about zero 2hundred I got through to cooler talk last night. I ask charlie Batch to come back and also ask if they had cut LOLandry on the sideline before going to the locker room. Charlie was answering me and stopped talking, and I ask why not bring Tyler Murphy up to back up Ben. My phone died or they hung up on me haha. Think it was my phone because I tuned back into the show. Another guy called and said are we through with the landry jones experiment? Charlie said they have to get serious about a back up for Ben
