AB Should Not Play

As much as AB is a crucial part of the Steelers his long term health is more important.

I am not a doctor nor do I know how AB is coping with his concussion, but it appeared to be a very serious concussion with his head whipping like it did after the impact.

AB will want to play and Tomlin will play anyone hurt if they're cleared, but there is a good chance he will be susceptible to further damage in the short term.

Ultimately it is AB's call but as much as I'd love to see him play next week I hope he makes the right decision for his future health.

AB is by all accounts a great guy and I know we are all worried for him and care for his well-being. Be safe, AB.

 

if he suffered a concussion, will he have to sit due to the leagues concussion protocol ?

 

No. Leveon Bell was knocked unconscious in his rookie year and played the next week.

Concussion protocol is strictly a Cover Your Ass policy.

 

AB might have been faking it to draw the flag. I doubt it but...The seriousness of a concussion takes time to tell. The new policy is not a C.Y.A. joke. Independant Drs will decide, not AB, not Coach T.

AB was definitely not faking. He was out before he hit the ground a d the ground made a second impact. Not good. I hope he's OK.

 

I believe it was just this year. Drs have no team affiliation.

I feel better about that now that it will be an impartial decision with AB's best interests first.
