I have been looking at his production this year. To me, they are similar as players. Both small school. Both freaky athletes. Both 4 sacks their rookie year. While I am not suggesting we will see a jump to 15 sacks for Dupree, I don't see why we shouldn't hope that he gets double digits next year.

I think I put him in a room at his exit meeting and challenge him to do just that. Talk to Mack. Find out what he did. Hit the gym. Work on your technique. Train with James.

I think we can see some improvement from him next year. If we can get some depth on that Dline, get the LBs finally getting some pressure, our DBs are going to look a lot better than they do this year.

One other thing, I expect us to see a "Mike Mitchell" type of signing at the safety position. I truly believe that. We will then focus on depth for our other positions, with maybe CB being the #1 pick for us this year.

IMO I think Dupree will be a very good player.I like JJ,Chikillo, and Zumwalt as well I think CB and FS is a must early in the draft..

I meant that based on their football program. Not a "small school", but even with them playing in the SEC, they are not a powerhouse in football. They play football at UK just to get to the basketball season. I didn't mean to imply the school itself was small.

Dupree appears to have all the potential to be very good. However the last 4 or 5 games he has done nothing. He even says he is exhausted, and appears to have hit the rookie wall.

Zumwalt isn't with the Steelers anymore. Dupree needs to work on his pass rush moves and skills in the offseason.

Bud will be fine. Put him in the right position and he will make a play. I can't for the life of me ...understand why these guys don't hang with Deebo!

Zumwalt was released the beginning of training camp I think, he was probably injured again. Once they drafted Chickillo he was expendable I guess.

Tar, I couldn`t agree more, esp, the part in BLUE!!!:clapping:...

Dupree may or may not have hit "the wall",

But at least he did it on the field, his rookie year...
And has shined at times...:thumbs up:

Learning from James can help him, whether Silverback is back here next year, or not!!!:aikido:...
Dupree would be smart to get under 92`s wing, and I think next year his production could easily double!
Not to mention the good habits he would learn, on how to take care of his body, and be a professional...
With James as his "role model"...
And he`s gonna be learning from Porter, no matter what..

That HAS to help his development!!:hardrock::thumbs up:
    GO STEELERS!!!:smashbengals:

These young Steeler LB's need to not look to far to see how to make yourself
a big time LB in the NFL, James Harrison, one of the most over achieving LB
of the modern day era. Watch, listen, learn, train, take care of your body.

And if you want more , Peezy was right up there also.

Dupree's stats aren't impressive, but he is just a rookie, 17 tackles, 9 assists, 4 sacks and 1 pass deflected on the season, maybe next year the light will go on if the coaches push him hard enough and he is going up against veteran olines that know all the tricks in blocking rookies, he needs to improve on technique....

Jarvis Jones = Average. That's not what you want from a 1st round pick that was drafted to be a pass rusher. I hope to see Chickillo getting more playing time next season. Dupree will be fine and he is already ahead of where Jones is.

You know me ,I can latch on to undrafted guys or former 1st. round busts find me a OLB like that and stop spending our top picks on that position ... I am seeing a lot of Teams starting to let guys play multiple positions maybe the Steelers need to scout Colleges for a Power Forward who also plays Rugby .Coach him up and get a pass rushing OLB and a TE ....

Maybe they should've kept OLB Howard Jones, he got some playing time with Tampa Bay this season.
