Kinda funny story playoffs

I usually carry my pistol when I leave the house. I carry a Bersa Thunder 9MM Ultimate Compact. I had a VA Appointment and they don't like guns there so I left it in my truck.

I was wearing my Steeler Jacket and was checking in. Guy sitting in the back said Steelers are going down. I said your mama goes down and everyone, him too laughed. I said you a Bungle fan he said no KC. I said no matter you lose when/if we play. Checked in and sat by him and teasing each other about our teams. All of a sudden this guy stiffens and gets the 1,000 meter stare. He says I'm about to go off on these people. I got PTSD and no xanex with me and the MF'er who they took in for labs got here after me. Reached for my gun and remembered it wasn't there. Thinking ohoh. Then he says they better remember when the old VA center was set on fire. I'm thinking oh CHIT I got to get to my truck. Bout that time the coumaden Dr. came out and called my name. He changed again said ok your up good luck in the playoffs. I said I don't need luck, you see us your're going home he smiled???
Went with the DR. came out. Just a finger prick and test. Guy was in the lab so didn't have to contend with him.
Note the old VA was set on fire by arson and the guy was caught and was a PTSD vet. I wonder if it was him? Got to my truck and strapped my Bersa on and went home. Meet some weird folks at the VA these days. I know, I'm one.

another gun free zone thats vulnerable. yet sarge keeps prodding the guy about the steelers. your a true steeler fan, no quarter. ankle holster and your 380 sarge. blake should be there with you guys since he's had so many bombs dropped his way.

 

I'm a vet myself (OIF,OND,OEF), and ya you meet some real characters at the VA.

Mac. I wear an Alien Gear OWB holster and all my Steeler shirts cover it great. I'll email you a pic of it and my IWB too and, I never give up when I got another teams fan on the ropes. Ha!

The Salem, OR VA Hospital gets me in and out pretty quick; never had any experiences like that.

Usually we are in and out fast Tango, but we are in an old building and in the middle of moving into a new place. Besides it is the VA Nuff said there. And I am thinking of kEpping my heater when I just do labs and coumadin checks. BTW My 2nd tour in Vietnam my official call sign was Whiskey 1. 1st section leader for 81's. Unofficial call sign was KneeDeep

I've got a buddy that always brings his gun to church and he keeps it in his boot. He said that's the easiest place for him to keep it. I saw a guy with a holster and a 9 at Mr. Gatti's the other day and my buddy, who has his carry permit, told me he thought it was illegal for that guy to open carry. I told him I thought it was perfectly legal in TN so I just went up to the guy and told him I hated to bother him but I just wanted to ask him about open carry in TN. He was a retired cop and said in TN your permit is just to "carry" and it doesn't specify one way or the other so it is actually legal to open carry. I told him I appreciated him carrying it open and it didn't bother me at all. I suppose you might get some dirty looks from time to time though huh? So you can open carry in NC too?

 

Well... with all due respect... he did admit he forgot he was unarmed

 

The VA, giving veterans (like you and me) a second chance to die for their country.

Yep Blount you can open carry in NC without a permit. I carry concealed though. I visit with my pastor every month when I take my tithe to his office. He says it is a council session, I for him and him for me. He once asked me to ride to the courthouse to turn in a wedding cert. We got out of his truck took about 10 steps and he said you got your gun? Yep. put it under my seat. They search folks going in. He has no problem either with guns.

 

Open carry? Concealed carry? What a concept! You guys just made everyone in San Francisco faint from indignation!

I don't want to start an argument or anything, I'm genuinely curious. For those that carry, why do you? Protection? Some other reason? I'm not anti gun, just curious why people decide to carry, and some don't.
