I disagree, LeBeau was living off his reputation the last 3 years in Pittsburgh. The defense isn't as predictable as it has been, the local media was critical of LeBeau schemes also.

The stats don't lie, look at all the different players in the secondary who have sacks. LeBeau would blitz Troy on occasion, I appreciate all LeBeau did for the Steelers but it was time for him to go.

I'm not going to try to convince you of anything, as your opinion of LeBeau is well known, but you seriously think Troy was the only DB LeBeau would blitz on occasion? Stats are good for some things I suppose.

Just curious since we're on the topic...how do you feel about "10 yard cushions"?

You can throw all the stats and what not out the window. This is a new season. I don't care what type of blitz they send and who invented it. If they don't bring the pass rush on Saturday ....we're going home.

I would blitz Blake every play if he is on the field ..I hope and pray he will not be, but I am sure he will be..

Those 10 yard cushions are a necessity because of the below average CBs, a staple of LeBeau scheme. I'm not saying Butler is a better DC than Lebeau it was just time for a change IMO. And the Steelers and Tomlin agree with me :roflmao:

haven't we gotten just about every ouch out of that little tidbit we can? I mean numerous people have pointed out to you that just because certain things happen doesn't necessarily mean that the Steelers and Tomlin agree with you specifically. I mean I hardly think they sit around smoking cigars and sipping brandy going "God I am so glad with listened to that steelersrule6 guy Wow were we stupid not to agree with him before." I can play this game too. I think the Steelers are awesome and anyone on this board thinks they are awesome to obviously you agree with me.

Can't speak to the number of times the DBs blitzed this year compared to prior years, but the DBs have had 7 sacks this year. They had 0 (ZERO) last year and 3 the year before that with two of those coming from Troy.

I agree with steelersrule6. DL had gotten stale in his approach and it was time for him to go. Butler has plenty of challenges on defense, but it does appear that he was a lot more creative with some of his blitz packages and the numbers seem to bear that out.

That's what I was trying to point out I think Butler has been more creative with his blitzes, and they have been more effective.

Yes I do and if it was sarcasm since you harp on that so and so agree with me more than PWP pimps his man crushes it is hard to tell although the lol should have been the determining factor. I do apologize somewhat, I find I having been getting chippier and chippier as the weeks go on especially as we get closer to game day.

Well, his Titan defense was in the cellar this year, contributing to them having the first pick in the 16 draft, they may want him to move on after this flop....

Or send him to Mac the Bengals CheerLeaders ..If the Bengals player thinks he has a big unit he might get distracted and drop a ball or 2...That strategy seems it could work as well as the coverage strategy works...
