Martavis got hurt

I guess after the Browns game, Bryant said that he strained his neck in the first quarter after making a tackle on Ben's first pick of the game. But he "thinks he'll be OK" for next week's playoff game.

 

Yeah, I recall them showing a passing shot of him lying on the sideline bench getting his neck worked on. He'll be fine. As long as he focuses that is... need to eliminate the dropsies.

 

Suck it up Buttercup it's the Post Season.

 

Apparently he had the flu too according to Hillgrove.

 

I Think Martavis Wheaton and DHB will all see more action. Haley had to figure the Browns keyed on AB

Martavis Wheaton is unstoppable. He is great from the slot or outside, runs the short patterns with sharp cuts and is the greatest deep threat. He will crush Bengals DB's.

Ben may not be the right messenger after missing multiple games, his history of laziness, and his recent track record of spitting the bit at inappropriate times. Ben should probably worry about his own toughness, commitment, and performance.

 

Somebody on defense needs to echo those words to Blake and JJ.

No green font intended. If there is a world record for lack of self-awareness, I'm sure Ben owns it. He is oblivious to his own shortcomings. Being a leader is about more than holding other people accountable.

 

Well, what Ben said about the interception doesn't make sense.

Is he supposed to drive his route deeper or come back? He said he saw the safety and ducked inside, but where Ben threw the ball was right at the CB that was attacking the route. I'm going to guess and say that maybe Bryant was supposed to sell the go route a little better and then make the stop and come back, but that's all moot because the CB wasn't buying it from the start.

IMO Bryant saw that and said "Crap, I got to split these guys and hope Ben pump fakes it and I'm gone to the house!" Ben tried to put that all on Bryant, but the way the Browns were driving routes on Sunday, you need to adjust.

 

Ben had two injuries this year that would have IR'd a lot of players. You're seriously going to question his toughness?
I'd also like to know where this laziness nonsense comes from.

And just because you've made some mistakes in the past doesn't mean you're not allowed to advise/critisize someone else.

 

As a preacher, I can definitely speak to that last thing you just said. So many times it gets thrown up in a preacher's face for simply giving somebody advice and people always say you're "judging" them. But there's a famous line from a famous preacher that I use all the time to put my position in perspective. "I'm just one beggar trying to tell another beggar where to find bread". Ben could ABSOLUTELY help Martavis with some tough love because Ben has "been there and done that". If I were Bryant I'd like to think I'd be begging Ben to hold me accountable and help me not travel down a road I would later regret.

 

Actually if you listen to his pressers he absolutely takes blame himself. This is just not an accurate statement whatsoever on your part. I'm not sure you've watched every play of every game this year but actually there was a game this year where Ben could see that Martavis was having a tough time mentally with some mistakes and Ben actually went to him on the sidelines to try and help him and tell him it was cool and they'd get it figured out. I can't remember which game but that shows great leadership on Ben's part. In reality, I've even felt at times that Ben was TOO passive because he'd never seem to let his linemen have it for constantly getting him hammered. He would even show up at camp with a Starks jersey on. The jersey should have had Starks' number but should have actually said "Sacks" instead. Ben is a great teammate and he has developed in to a solid leader. He's a fiery competitor and players have mentioned this trait in him for years.

 

Bryant might be a bit mentally spent ...He has had an eventful year to say the least ..I still think that DHB should continue to take more of his reps , I don't think Bryant is ready mentally which is clearly showing in his play
