Good news no major damage. He hopes to play Saturday,

On Monday, the Steelers received some good news with regard to DeAngelo Williams.

Per ESPN's Brittany McHenry, Williams' MRI revealed that there was "no fractures or major structural damage" to his right ankle, and that Williams is day to day while he continues to recover from the injury.

Williams, who amassed nearly 1,400 total yards and 11 touchdowns in 10 starts this season, injured his ankle during the first half of Sunday's game against the Browns. Williams, who was carted off the field and was seen with a boot on his right leg following the game, has enjoyed a career rebirth in Pittsburgh this season, after spending his first nine seasons with the Carolina Panthers.

Williams hopes to rejoin the Steelers (10-6) for Saturday's Wild Card Game against the Bengals (12-4) this Saturday night.

Sounds very encouraging but of all weeks to have a Saturday game....this is a bad one for this reason. Thanks for the linked update. Welcome Shov.....sorry just can't call a complete stranger such names and make fun of his snozel.

Lol. Username is just the name of a fish I used to own. I couldn't think of a name on the first internet site I ever signed up for. So I picked that. It seems to be open on every site so I just use it.

    It's Kevin BTW!

Dalton's camp is saying similar things but I'd be surprised if either played. Still, here's to hoping DW can go!

I just am glad that he is not out for the season. If he doesn't play Saturday it sounds like for sure next week should we get past the Bungholes.

This is encouraging. Hope there's some truth to it, and if so, that he'll actually be recovered enough not to just play but to play well.

That`s great news. Sounds like it is just a matter of swelling or stiffness and pain to be dealt with. We will see if he can practice.

We also heard that Bell last year was on the exercise bike like he was training for the Tour de France. Fingers crossed "obviously" but playoff injury reports are fishy for good reason. I'm sure Tomlin won't be too forthcoming tomorrow either. I guess we'll have to wait until game time.

Cautiously optimistic. It's better than hearing he sustained a severe injury.

Let's hope he's doing ok! Seems like a great guy.
Maybe we get some good luck and he's able to go and is effective.

I think DeAngelo will try and play. I think they'll tape that thing up & give him some medicine & he'll be good to go.

As far as Red Ryder, Cincinnati.com said that the Bengals are going to prepare with AJ early in the week. Lewis wouldn't share the results of Daltons evaluation on Monday. If Dalton got his cast off, you'd think they'd be giving him the reps so he can get comfortable gripping the ball. I don't see them letting Dalton start this game.

How effective can he be on a gimpy ankle?? Along with Toissant, we need to dress Todman too..

Aye - a bit like Pouncey before the GB superbowl as well.

If he's not seriously injured, then the Steelers would be foolish not to tout that he may play on Saturday - anything to disrupt the Bengals defensive strategy. My suspicion is that he won't, though.

In one sense, it could be an advantage for us if they did, and he was still a bit gimpy with his grip... the effect could be a bit like when we started an immobile Ben against San Francisco that time.

We HAVE to have him on the field!! We are one dimensional without him.

Seeing as it looks like D Will is day to day and probably be a game time decision, the question is do you dress Todman as well and at whose expense? Or take the chance that if D Will tests it and can't go or finish the game you are left with one RB. You could always use WJ but he's really not a true RB. If we are one dimensional we will lose unless Ben AND our WRs play out of their heads.

If Williams plays, I will be impressed as hell. But, I'd rather have a 100% Toussaint than a 60% Williams playing.

I think they should dress all 3 backs. So if DW can't go or starts and can't finish, you got the other 2 backs.
