Just need him to be serviceable to keep defenses honest. Him and todman just need to secure the ball and make a couple plays.

Based on what I saw yesterday, the answer is no. He just doesn't appear to have the best instincts in the world, something both Bell and Williams have a load of.

    Hurry back, D-Will!

Well, look at D Will's stats from the game yesterday. He wasn't doing to good either. We needed the line to do a better job.

Now, if they create some holes, maybe Toussant can get some yards. Main thing is blitz pickup

His college tape is fairly electrifying..... the problem is that he needs to get used to the speed of the pro game..... the event bigger problem is that he doesn't have the time to do that... he's being pressed into duty rather abruptly, and there is no other option, so don't expect much from him Saturday other than maybe 13-15 carries to keep the Bengals (and other teams as we advance) honest, and prepare to watch the black and gold aerial show this postseason

The difference is that DW poses a potential threat. He has great hands and can catch and run with the best of them. He also is always a threat to break a big run. The only thing Toussaint did yesterday was dance too much before running into a pile of defenders.

if they don;t get dalton back and we don't get Dwill back the playing field is still even. If they get dalton back and dwill is out the bengals will have a huge advantage

looks an awful lot like last year's playoff situation against Baltimore..... hate to say it, I'd like to be optimistic..... but no bell no williams...... yikes. Eerily similar to losing bell last year after douche blount was sent packing. Cincy's weakness was the running game.... don't think Toussaint has it in him anymore than harris/tate did last year

A good first series, where he's able to run for 5+ on a couple of runs would be enough to open the passing game early.
After all, it's not that we are a run-oriented offense that needs him to carry the team. Just to keep defenses guessing, and knowing he's a threat

I think he can in terms of what we need him to do. We need to get rid of the ball quickly to negate their talented defensive line and force their lb's to cover instead of blitzing. I think he can be a poor man's DW in spots. The key is we need to establish the quick passing game to set up the run.

Agreed. Todman kind of gives you the same threat but sadly I don't think he will get too much of a chance. I hope I'm wrong about Fitz ,I'd be more than glad to eat a nice pile of crow on a nice warm Toussaint.

They will need the Oline to run block like the second coming of "the hogs" will Miller and Spaeth in as well Will J as the lead blocker and have Decastro pulling. The RB coach will have to work with him on taking his first read and hitting the hole with power, he isn't a wait and see and then bounce it or get up to speed guy. He has to be the three yards and snow flies guy.

Agree, when he did get in he looked a little slow hitting the hole, and a little tentative. He just needs to hit it hard and hold onto the ball. He's a different type of runner than DW or Bell, cause he doesn't have the jump cut that they do. Hope they do a lot of work with him in this short week and maybe use both backs and see who has the hotter hand.

As long as he can catch simple dump offs... We should be ok. We're a passing team!

Play action will be risky, as I did not see much ability to block, and Ben could get killed. Probably either clearly a run or empty set.
