I think you have to go further then scheme to at least be fair to the number of quarterback sacks. Todays game is far removed from what it was when Lloyd and company played. Now if you rush the quarterback you better make sure you don,t hit him high or low or charge with head or generally hurt the QB in anyway shape or form. This has dramatically made a difference in how OLBs tackle.. Now when they get to the QB they have to kiss him lol

Then tell me why that The KC Chiefs get to the QB? And the Denver Donkeys? And the Carolina Panthers? And so on...Oh, they have a wait on it, a SECONDARY!
Excuses are why this team will not make the playoffs. I will say it now, Jarvis Jones is a BUST. But he will play out his contract next season.
Bud Dupree needs a bit more beef and a turn around next season. And some nasty. Chickillo needs to see some time.
And the inside guys are not without blame. They have disappeared. Oh and the wonderful secondary.

And if they draft another DE/OLB in the 1st I will be joining Real steel on the ledge. Let's look at free agency how about it? Resign James Harrison as well. And Boykin if he will stick around after confusing explanations week after week that Blake was better then him

Yes if you have solid man guys in your secondary then you can have average pass rushers who have time to get to the QB. If you have a poor secondary you need to creat pressure with your front seven and get after the QB and do it fast since the holes in that secondary will be exploited quickly. Jarvis could be a bust or the greatest pass rusher you have never seen but we will never know if the qb gets rid of the ball in 2 seconds usually on throws against Will Allen or Blake. Heck Harrison and Woodley in 2008 would have had a hard time getting to the QB and preventing throws with this secondary especially with them looking to smoke guys with big hits instead of covering their man.

 

You know I'm not sure what first round draft status means exactly but I know what it doesn't mean. It doesn't mean get out there and get your ass handed to you on nearly every dang play. How about making some plays every now and then. Not just disappear game after game. Not get outplayed by a guy nearly twice your age. Heck most of us would accept average play out of him at this point!

 

umm he did do average all season long and looked good a time or two as well but when people have made up their mind they want a Woodley/Harrison type season out of him nothing else will make any difference
