In the case of Allen and Golden, they know their limitations and play within them. Troy refused to acknowledge that his skills had diminished significantly and left the secondary exposed on multiple occasions by trying to do things he was no longer capable of doing.

Even if he's better than what we have now I don't think it was worth it to risk Troy getting another concussion. I believe he had what? 9 in his career going back to college? From a health stand point it's for the best he got out.

Trot!!! "TROY" Oh.. your human and you to can spell words wrong. You flamed me a couple days ago for spelling "themselves " wrong. I would never misspell arguably one of the best strong safety's in Steelers history's first name wrong.hahaha

it was time for trot to go.

will allen never should have been starting for us.

they should have found out last year if shamarko could play.

they needed to keep a younger player to work with at safety.

golden did better than i expected this year and should have been playing or even starting over will allen.

we need safety help come draft time. (cash from duke is my pick).

we have struggled since troy left and took the skill set he played with. we had to go back to a more traditional style of safety play without it and it's been a long time since we had to do that.

.......and yet, you can't spell "you're"
Troy, while great in his day, had become a liability.

I'm not saying get Troy back or even that we should not have let him go.
Just trying to figure out what the coaches seen in these other guys that made Troy expendable?
I just have a hard time believing that he was worse than S. Thomas, a guy who can't even sniff the field on defense.

Probably more to do with financially then skill level. No way he's worse then whats back there. But probably not enough of a difference to warrant paying him.

Troys 2015 base salary was 6 million, so did they try to get him to take a big pay cut to stay, who knows that probably was the deciding factor in keeping him on the field for this year or not, I doubt if he could have played 16 games, more likely 4 to 6 games would have been the most he could have played in before a ding would have sidelined him...........

I offer more than those 3 ...Whoever we have that scouts, evaluates, and determine the future of all our DB'S should stop doing it and try something else...

Troy was better than what we have now. It's just we weren't used to seeing Troy play like he was human. He couldn't stay healthy which IMO was the real problem. He was still better near the LOS than most safeties.

Troy's last couple seasons he started guessing a lot and guessing wrong often...which allowed big plays.

I wonder if DL was still our d-coordinator we'd be in the playoffs right now. I have to wonder what the Rooney's think about Tomlin and Colbert running DL off and missing the playoffs?

I'd probably make this case with Arians. But LeBeau IMO whether it was age or that he was here way too long, I think they needed a new voice there. I thought Butler did an outstanding job this year. If the secondary was half decent this was a playoff team (this year).

Thank you, I accept. By the way, you misspelled too in you'RE 1st post. You probably shouldn't laugh at how someone else spells until you proofread YOUR post first.
    grammar.

Lol.. 44 replies in I'm just now opening this thread. When I first saw the title I just figured it was some PS running back and skipped it. Seeing it garnering so much banter I figured I'd check it out to see what the hubbub was all about.
