We already have enough blame to go around on our own team.

Maybe if you order a small. I'm really hoping the league takes a look at their guidelines of a 'catch' in the offseason. Some of the plays being called anymore are ridiculous - and there have been far more egregious flubs than Brown's today.

I think most times they get it right per the rule. Problem is the rule is dumb.
I read somewhere that Mike Pereria has refereed a total of one NFL game in his career.

I agree - that's what I'm hoping they review. The rules for what determines a catch have gotten a bit silly.

As for Brown's catch today, I expected it to be overturned when I saw the replay. Again, per the rule. I'm a little surprised Pereria thought differently, but hey, if it gets the owners motivated to review the verbiage it works for me.

The rules concerning what is "a catch" have become a lot like the US Tax code - a whole lot of complexity for something that shouldn't really be complex. They need to toss it all and start over with a simple definition.

It don't matter. Team looked like sh*t and we'll all be rooting for the AFC team in the superbowl
Most likely we will have beaten the 2,3 and 4 team in the afc seeding and lost to the 5th

The first big first down pass to him on 3rd and 16 should have also counted. But for some reason we didn't challenge the call when we should have.

Why in the hell would I root for the cheaters?!?

I'll be pulling for Pittsburgh West or Carolina.

Agreed. I should have phrased it "some of the plays being reviewed anymore are ridiculous." As has been mentioned above, it's not that the refs are necessarily getting the calls wrong, it's the rule forcing a micromanagement of an otherwise simple part of the game.

I hate when they do this AFTER the fact. Ok, so he thinks it should have counted. So what? I think we should have played better. We didn't and the TD didn't count. Moving on to something we can actually control.

Pereria's opinion is almost worthless. I can't count the number of times he has gotten calls wrong on the air during the review process.

Heaven forbid the NFL hire actual former referees to review calls and implement rule changes.

A few years ago, Mike Pereira was one of those bozo replay referees who screwed up the obvious. Now, that he's on TV his opinions on replays are the infallible voice of God.

Listening to him and Mike Carey have convinced me that there is no such thing as 'indisputable evidence' in many cases. Or rather what is indisputable to me is not necessarily indisputable to you,

When the announcers and officials have to talk to NY constantly during the game to see if the catches are legal or a clarification on rules, there is something wrong about this. The rules shouldn't be this complicated.
