Looking at that play again it was a catch. He never bobbled the ball and had it the entire time going to the ground. They really need to change the rule for this because they get it wrong time and time again.

I thought so too. His 3rd & 16 conversion was also a clear catch and should have been reviewed.

NFL knows its a catch, it's always subjective depending on which teams is involved. If the NFL don't like you, it's not a catch, if they do then it is. He caught the ball, the ball never hit the ground, plus he had 2 feet into the endzone. If that same play happened against our pathetic defense, you really think the NFL overturn that??

The ball did slip down his body... So he did lose control. It wasn't a catch.

It did, but he maintained both hands on it all the way to the ground. I don't know how they define control anymore.

Yup, if Green for Cincy, or Edelmann for NE, makes that same catch vs PGH in the playoffs, and they ruled it a TD, this board goes ballistic.

that's what I thought as well but sad thing is that is a judgment call. randell cobb had a similar play that was ruled a catch because it never separated from his body even though it was moving down.

Actually I saw an interception in the patriots game where it was clearly moving as he was striding out the back of the endzone that they didn't overturn.......

I thought it was a catch. I thought when he took his one hand off the ball, he slid his other hand (with the ball in it) down. I didn't see the ball move, just the hand with the ball in.

I see that as him making sure he had control through the contact with the ground. I did not see that ball move in the hand he had control of it with. The fact that it looked like it "slid" on his body is irrelevant. That ball did not rotate in his gripping hand at all. Garbage overturn. if they had said incomplete right from the start I'd have a better time taking it, but the call was TD and really should have been.

If the ball hits your hands and you regrip the ball... Possession doesn't start until your grip is solid. AB lost grip when it slid down, it was actually a good call.

By rule it wasn't a catch, but for a league who wants more offense I don't know why they don't change the rule.
