Need your guidance

I know this is my first post here, but please take me serious, if possible! I'm currently 31 years old, and have been a bills fan my entire life, until this year. i have moved into steelers country in the last yr and the passion you guys have is awesome. Supporting a team that has not won a playoff game in 20 years has been a huge challenge, but there comes a time when enough is enough. Seeing how all my coworkers are steelers fans, I feel I should fit right in. Must admit I have liked the Steelers the last couple years but I guess its like getting over an ex wife or something and trying to move on. So my question is, will I be welcomed here?

Ya i can take it, but there comes a time when enoughs enough and cut losses and move on. I mean, just sit back and try to see it from my point of view, I have rooted for a team that hasnt won a playoff game since 1995, do you know what that feels like? this year had high hopes all over it, then total implosion. There just comes a time when enough is enough and move on. really though, sit back and think of it, 20 years! i guess i feel like Anikan when he bows to Palpatine, just gives up that quick, i hit that spot

 

i just got married in september, so the abstinence shouldnt be an issue!

Haha. I must fully admit though, I did have strong resentment towards the steelers when they beat the bills with third stringers back in 04 or 05, when the steelers went 15-1 in bens first season. that was heart breaking, but i think that planted the seed for my change. I saw that good teams find ways to win. Its been a hard road, but new life, new wife, new job, new home, time to be out with my old life and start out fresh. I appreciate the welcoming with open arms!

I feel your pain.

 

We older fans did suffer through a 25 year drought between superbowl wins 4 and 5, but granted we did make it to the playoffs a lot only to be disappointed in the results the biggest being the 95 superbowl loss, but to be a steeler fan you have to deal with a lot of ups and downs, hope you dont expect every year to be smooth sailing here, because we never know what we are going to get from season to season but we just hang in hoping for the best, welcome as a new fan but don't jump ship when a losing season comes along.....

 

trust me, ive dealt with several loosing years. its just not about that though, ive seen over the years the steelers organization knows what its doing, having continuity in coaching and in personnel. not having 7 head coaches in 12 yrs, same with QBs. they retain decent players and players want to stay it seems for the most part. theres no loyalty in buffalo and all the good talent leaves when given the opportunity. it hurts there as a fan when u know the players dont want to be there, another reason why i feel its time to move on.

 

The obvious question is though

i grew up in buffalo, and ive always been a supporter of hometown teams. since i moved though i have been very anti NYS it seems, specially on 2nd amendment views haha. The way i explain it, being a bills fan, at the time, was like being a battered wife and expecting her husband to change. everyone has a breaking point, i just meet mine later than i thought.

im only 2 hrs from Cleveland, i could go to the last game haha, but agreed, my cousin has been a steelers fan since we were kids, i think i will drag him to a game in the fall!

 

Welcome to the right choice...Steelers all the way! I have been a Steelers fan since the 70's, but I live in Oregon and have never been to Pittsburgh. I am jealous that your there seeing all the crazy fans and full Steelers Nation. Enjoy every minute of it.

 

Probably get more respect if you just say you are a Bills fan that cheers for the Steelers when it doesn't effect the Bills because you respect the organization and Rooneys. But yeah, out in public just say you are a Steelers fan lol

after loosing my job in NY i landed a job in a town about an hr and a half outside pittsburg, so i had to move. and i was just tired of all the losing in NY, like i said before, there comes a snapping point!

 

Welcome to Steeler Nation! I just don't think Sexy Rexy has what it takes to be a HC in the NFL. Always had a lot of respect for Marv Levy though.
