The New "Aluminum Curtain" Defense

At home, in a must win game, against a 2nd string QB, with an average offense.

The opposing team scores a TD in "four straight possessions" (at the time of this post).

Seems like every single play the secondary didn't really know which man to cover, it was "deer in headlights / work it out as you go. AKA, 31st in pass coverage.

Don't know why Blake is still playing.

I doubt a SB this yr. Will be FORTUNATE to make the playoffs.

 

And then in the same game... Come out in the second half and completely shut down the Broncos haha how does that even happen?

 

I'm still at halftime on my DVR, but I agree with you. It's not too early to say this defense is done, and cannot be redeemed. They can't even make a single stop. Pathetic. I give up.

 

Antwon Blake is the best decoy in the league. I imagine playing Mike Vick was all part of this plan as well.

Breaking News: Adam ****face is reporting that the Steelers are expecting to file illegal tampering charges against the Broncos. It was discovered at halftime that someone had substituted the old Tebow game plan (that was thought to have been destroyed) with the real Steelers plan going into the game. Luckily the wrongdoing was discovered seconds before the Steelers were set to take the field in the second half.
Rumors are out there that one Peyton Manning himself alerted the Steelers to the dastardly plan with the fear that Osweillers performance would finally force him into retirement........for good.

 

I know right. Usually when I make a "vent" post such as this the team "magically" finds a way to turn it around, or not.

When they don't, it lets me know they are not even "close" to being ready to compete.

When they DO turn it around, then the sky is the limit.

Don't know, yet, how far this team will go this year, but I do know THEY HAVE IT IN THEM TO MAKE IT HAPPEN !!!

Haven't seen a 2nd half defensive effort (like tonight's) from this team since the Steel Curtain era... true story.

I know great win but if I had one complaint and I do ,it would be that I would like to see something other than a bull rush from our OLBs it's just so predictable. It gets tiring watching them continually get pushed up the arc and the QB stepping up. If we are going anywhere we need to start turning all these almost sacks into real ones. It's so frustrating watching them get so close.and not seal the deal....sigh.
