    Hello all...great game today.

One,ok a few more local questions for my trip to Pitt next week.

Thx for your help last time about seating. Ended up getting 3 lower level seats on Stub hub for $750. More then I wanted to spend...but it is my boys Xmas present.

Parking? Packing a cooler cuz I'd luv to tailgate even though we don't know anyone. We will go in GateC. Green lot 121? Or...since we planned to go after game to Station Square anyway...park there and take boat in?

Off topic...Primanti Brothers@ Strip or other? Which incline is best? Any other must do besides museums?

    Thanks again,
    Natalie

Primanti's Strip District is the original, Mon incline right at Station Square.
Lots of place's/ things to do up on Mt Washington. LeMont $$$$. Depending
on your length of stay and your kid's ages (are they minors), Bloomfield section
(Little Italy) is a good place and safe place Del's/ Tessario's, Church Brew. South side is ok
a little young for my heart, but zillion drinking establishments. Have fun and be safe.
There is plenty to do in PGH, depending on your interests. If you are driving and not local
to the sorroundings Pgh can be very difficult to drive in. Take cab it will be quicker
    and safer.

Thanks! My boys are 22 and 16. We are driving up from Atlanta and staying till Monday before we head on to NE Pa where I was born/ raised and where my whole family are.

I've heard about Southside...but with younger son ...so we will be sticking to
    restauant/ bars .

Looking fwd to driving in Pitt lol! We are staying outside Pitt near Waterfront. Living in Atlanta the last 20 yrs...believe me when I say it's crazy lol!

Heard their were cool restaurants on Grandview up the incline.

Whatever we do we will have a blast! But can it get a little cooler ( suppose to this weekend) I'm not a fan of day in and day out winter weather but living in the South I've always hated watching football ( my boys play/ played) and Xmas in warm weather!

    Thx again!

I've only been to Pittsburgh once. Did the strip district, the incline, screwed up and didn't make reservations for any of the restaurants at the top. I wish we had driven down to see Falling Water................next time.

Packing a cooler cuz I'd luv to tailgate even though we don't know anyone.

Everyone is friends at tailgate time, they will treat you like they have known you forever, even share their food and drinks with you, thats tailgate hospitality steeler fan style.......

They have parking at the clipper, it's like $20. Restaurants on the South Side would be fine before the game it would be after but yeah, something up the incline might be better. I'd try to make a reservation somewhere just in case. Should be able to find a tailgate. There will also be a lot of people hanging outside Bettis's. If you can't make it to Primanti and somebody really wanted to try it they have it at the stadium.

Since your going in Gate C game day you might consider taking the T over to Heinz field, it will drop you off basically at Gate C.

I would consider Primantti's in strip district it's the original real mccoy.

Also Churchbrew works is awesome. An old catholic school that got turned into a brewery and restaurant.

    http://www.portauthority.org/paac/apps/maps/TLines.pdf

I attached the map for the T.

Also don't plan on taking the cooler with you/ into Heinz, it has to be a clear bag by certain dimensions etc.
You can't even take in a purse.

Thx.. 2ND to mention Churchbrew. May have to try for sure .We will be there 4 days.

I read about taking the the T.. $5 parking at garage on game day...but that would mean not tailgating "original" style near your vehicle not showing up empty handed so to speak. I read parking at Square was $8 but that might not be game day then $10 ea rthe for boat Im leaning on getting a parking pass in a lot a I've never meant a stranger lol! (my boys roll there eyes sometimes) Then there is some stage AE thing they have, but it's probably like the one they do here at Falcons game and eh...only went once. I'll ask boys after surprise ( they don't know we are going. Can't wait to see when the finally realized we aren't going straight to NE Pa (

Btw...last season when Steelers were here I swear it was 90% Steeler nation. We were so loud HEEATH!

    Anyway thx!

We are staying on the South side and will take the trolley and then the water taxi to the game. I find it easier as we are not worried about parking, but we cannot tailgate before the game. I have had Steelers fans invite us into there tailgate parties at every stadium that we have been too. The strip district and Primanti Bros are a must. I like Quaker Steak and Lube too.

Good deal! I just always let this known, I've seen a lot people have no idea, and have to run their stuff clear back to the car before.
I usually see it happen a couple times a season.

Inside stage AE is quite nice,a bunch of Steelers fans in there. You have to pay for drinks, and prices get up there. But, it's nice if you park further away, and don't have any beer on hand.

We usually park downtown at 5th and Penn garage, $6 for the parking. We usually load up on beers in our jackets pants etc and drink them along the way. Conceal it going past the cops, the closer you get to tailgating near PNC park and Heinz field they won't say anything, but if your downtown with an open beverage the usually aren't trilled. If you want the Red Garage 5 is between PNC park and Heinz field, it has pre-sold passes, but first come first serve limited parking, but it's $30 to park I think, also no tailgating, as far a having a grille etc. You can drink all you want to in there, as we have before.

You will be surprised most Steelers fans are nice some have a pay to tailgate policy, give them 20-25 bucks and they will let you drink and eat with them.

Yes that happened to me the 1st year they implanted it. Went to a preseason game and my bag was fine... went to a game and nope! Was was worse we took Marta (train) But they had tents set up to check your bag and given plastic ones. Still not fun walking around game with a ziplock!

This place is new and diagonal from Bettis' place outside the stadium. I hear the burgers and shakes are really top notch.

Burgers are average imo and beer sucks but their shakes are a must! Nutella Crunch is so good. They got alcoholic shakes too. They are only in Pittsburgh as well.

Our topography makes it much different driving than in
large Metro(ATL) areas that have freeways that take to you to your exit.
In PGH you can see where you want to go but can't get there LOL. Being
from the South and flat area I think you will be happy up on Mt Washington.
I have drank with Louis Lipps in Redbeards on Mt Washington. have seen LC Grennwood God rest his soul
up at the Pleasure Bar in Bloomfield.

Blue lot 7j is first come first serve $35. Little bit of a walk, but it's awesome to walk through all the tailgating on the way to the stadium.

Make sure you get into the stadium an hour before game time and visit the Steeler hall under the stadium. Well worth your time and they usually have bands and some pre game entertainment.

Thanks...I'm going to see what the boys ultimately want to do. They won't know we are going until we are well on our way.Actually I cant wait to found out how long it takes them to figure out we make the split to go towards Pitt instead of our usual route to Pa lol!

Depending on insight from boys and knowing my youngest saw Jerome Bettis place on MNF weeks ago and said it looked like a cool place...I think to as usual I'm going to try to do it all to save $$$ for other stuff. If anyone sees any holes in my plan let me know lol!

First of all get up and leave hotel early. Park downtown for $5 ( forget station right now 1st ave??) Take T for free to North Station....walk to Jerome Bettis Grill when they open. Have lunch, hang out. Leave and go to stage AE tailgate or find a tailgate on way :) Go to stadium early to see hall etc then GAMETIME! After game.. take T to Station Square , hang out , go up M.Incline etc...take Then take T back to car....Tu- dah!

I certainly admit when I'm wrong! Lol! Crazy driving in Pitt! Up ,down, tunnel bridge ,non yielding drivers etc. But after a few go around etc I actually started to know where I was!
