Real quick in terms of wildcard spots here are the ones to watch. The Jets and Giants. I think the Giant win this game and the Steelers get help here. The Bills and the Texans. Either way the Steelers get help here because if the Bills win both teams are 6-6, and if Houston wins they are 7-5 and in first place as long as the Steelers beat the Colts who would be 6-6 if they did and would have the tiebraker in the wildcard race as well over the Colts incase Houston does win the South. Huge game though for the Bills today. I think if they lose and fall to 5-7 their odds of making the playoffs are just about done. Finally, the Chiefs and the Raiders play late today in a MUST win game for the Raiders. If the Raiders win this game keep in mind they would jump the Chiefs for the tiebraker at 6-6 and would be ahead of all the other 6-6 teams based on their conference record. So very possible for the Steelers to be 7-5 with a win and if the Bills win,Jets and Chiefs lose for 6 teams to be 6-6 the Jets,Chiefs,Bills,Houston,Raiders, and Colts. So should be a fun day to keep an eye on all this and see where we are at in about 12 hours from now.

Good breakdown and observation. Yeah, I will definitely keep my eye on those games, but we have to take care of business as well

Really we have to take care of business first???? I think that was pretty obvious if we are keeping an eye on the other wildcard teams......

Here is some cool info I found to look at:

    AFC tiebreakers:

    • Cincinnati is ahead of Denver based on conference record (7-1 to the Broncos' 5-2).
    • Indianapolis is ahead of Houston in the AFC South based on head to head (1-0).
    • Kansas City is ahead of Houston, the N.Y. Jets and Pittsburgh based on conference record (Chiefs' 5-2 to the Texans' 4-3, Jets' 5-4 and the Steelers' 3-4).
    • Houston is ahead of the N.Y. Jets and Pittsburgh based on conference record (Texans' 4-3 to the Jets' 5-4 and the Steelers' 3-4).
    • The N.Y. Jets are ahead of Pittsburgh based on conference record (5-4 to the Steelers' 3-4).
    • Oakland is ahead of Buffalo based on conference record (5-3 to the Bills' 5-5).
    • Jacksonville is ahead of Baltimore and Miami based on head-to-head sweep (2-0).
    • Baltimore is ahead of Miami based on conference record (3-5 to the Dolphins' 2-6).
    • Cleveland is ahead of Tennessee based on head to head (1-0).

Google the "nyt playoff simulator" to play with the excellent NY Times playoff simulator. Ive posted about this in other threads. Heading into today, we make the playoffs in 35% of scenarios. If we lose tonight, it drops to 13%. So first and foremost, we need to take care of business.

Now, if we win tonight along with the Texans and Giants, were at 52%. Throw in a win for us next week, and it's 78%.

The permutations are endless, and fun to play around with. However, the #1 key is to take care of our own business.

There is only one game of any concern today and involves the Steelers and Colts.

Win and worry about next week...lose and worry about next year.

The only important game today i'm interested in is the colts, i'm not going to track every other teams playoff aspirations just so the steelers can tread water waiting to win out in a mess they created by their own making, they lose this game and as far as i'm concerned they are done.....

Yeah I seen that in the other thread love it it is a very cool tool. However like I stated to the other poster I think it is pretty obvious we need to win 1st and foremost. Saying what teams we need to watch without us winning is like touching fire and being surprised you got burned...... Win win win that's what we need to do. If we win out no matter what anyone does we are in but really does anyone expect us to win out? We are gonna drop 1 game either to the Bunholes or the Broncos.

Its not obvious....if we go out and get out coached and coach has said he's gonna give the dB's a chance to redeem themselves and we lose then all of those scenarios are for not. Take nothing for granted.

So a top 10 defense that's only allowed 18 points per a game. Has already given up 21 to the Seahawks in the 1st half. Seahawks drove the whole field for two drives too. Just like I thought last week was a result of horrible coaching, in game decisions, and turnovers which were a result of trying to force the ball to AB.

Right thanks for making my point if we don't win nothing matters no need to talk about anything else. We have to win and if we win out we hold our own faith but that is asking a lot.

The Jets winning today was not good for the Steelers. Now if KC beats Oakland even with a win tonight we are still on the outside looking in at 7-5. Steelers assuming they win tonight are going to have to find a way to beat either Cincy or Denver the next 2 weeks. The Steelers I feel need to go 10-6 to make the playoffs. They just lose way too many tiebrakers at 9-7.

Giants suck....tom coughlin did his impersonation of mike Tomlin. Kick the fg and get the points instead he go for a 4th and 2 and throw an int...which lead to point for the jets. Sound familiar?!

Up by 10 with under 10 left, If they kicked the FG on 4th and 2 they win. Do not understand that call by Coughlin.
