...that Antwan Blake gets the start over Boykin next week? Our pass defense absolutely sucks wind! We can't cover anybody!! And to see Blake playing 12 yards off the LOS and giving up uncontested catch after uncontested catch is getting ridiculous! I'm sick of watching 41 chasing the receiver from behind after he's been burned yet again and trying to tackle like he lost his arms to an IED in Iraq! Tomlin has GOT to make some changes in the secondary going into next week!

Blake is one of the worse DB's I've ever seen. He gets worse with every game.

I have no problem benching Blake, but where does this notion that Boykin is all that great come from.
This guy has reached legendary status around here and he has barely even played.

Weird. I could have sworn he played in Philly.

Not saying he's the second coming of Mel Blount, but I'd start him if he were somewhere between Blount and Blake. He payed pretty well in Philly and we were obviously impressed enough with him TO PURSUE A TRADE WITH PHILADELPHIA TO OBTAIN HIM! Geez, he CANNOT BE WORSE THAN ANTWAN "LOOK MA, NO HANDS" BLAKE!

I don't know that he is great Glenn but he was good in Philly and was rated higher by the stats guys. At this point if he can tackle and cover 15% of the time that has got to be better than Blake. They also need to get Golden in for Allen because the old man is a hot mess as well

We also pursued a trade to get Scobee?

Agree 100%! Golden played pretty well when Allen was out injured. Tomlin needs to shake up the secondary this week!

And your point is that we should have maybe given Scobee a shot at CB?! Hey, I'm game!

Blake has a dang cast on. He will start. Take it to the bank. Blake is abysmal. Will Allen is abysmal. Mitchell is not exactly a genius but has shown some growth. Cockrell seems feast or famine. Shamarko is a bust. If Boykin can't get on the field because of some vendetta of Tomlin then he is a very small and petty man. Seems we could rearrange the corners to put Boykin is the slot since they insist that's where he belongs. But here's the kicker. Guess where Blake was when he gave up the game clincher? Wait for it.... IN THE FREAKING SLOT!!!

Not to mention the need for Will Allen to constantly guess wrong and think its a run or bubble screen. Heck they could have kept Troy if they wanted than and got more splash plays to boot.

    Yeah Allen!
Not sure what the deal is with Boykin, is he only considered a Slot Corner, does he just stink in practice, is he being punished for something we don't know about? Who knows.

I'm just wondering if there is something behind the scenes that we're not aware of.

At least give Boykin a shot. When he's been on the field he looked like he belonged. Nobody's saying he's a legend but he CANNOT be worse than Blake, IMHO.

Thats true but it became painfully apparent that it was a bad move right away. Boykin has come in and made some plays and then nothing. In for a play breaks up a pass, benched the rest of the game while the staff says the team is good.

Apparently they just keep saying that they're trying to be loyal to their guys already established or some crap. I can tell you this. I don't know how many other coaches would be this patient with Blake when has the stat sheet that he does and Boykin has proven to be a solid guy before his time here.

With the anticipation of the Steelers making the playoffs they are trying to keep Boykins snap count down so they don't have to give up that 4th round pick.

His play in Philly was really solid though. My buddy that's an Eagles fan told me he was mad they let him go. I understand that sometimes guys might not fit with certain schemes and it honestly might be that they think Boykin is a little too aggressive or something. The irony is that Tomlin seems bent on being known for his aggression on offense but then plays 5 and 6 yards off on defense.
