Who would have thunk it....... Landry Starts and Ben as the backup.......

What does this say about vick? Or what we think about the Browns...

It shows that Vick is no longer a good option as a QB . It shows that Ben is not really fully ready to play.He needs the rest . It shows the Team knows how important it is to win this game . If and only if they have to,,, The Team will risk Ben to get this win ... I wished we had differen't options , but we don't...

I wish we always had a back up as good as we have this week.
I think it's a good thing to have it set up like this.
IF Ben needs to come in then he's available, it's not necessary for him to be out there for 60 plus snaps.
Maybe Tomlin has come to realise that Vick is only an insurance policy in the event there is calamity in the game w/o simply forfeiting.
Browns do have a lot of injuries too so I guess it's also saying "WE got this"

Sorry Cajun I started the same thread and just deleted it, here was my post there

Hope this means the Vick experiment is over. I ain't never been happy about the dog stuff but if he could have won I would have been ok BUT. If Jones had played the Balt game, we would have won in spite of scoobydoo. Vick is just taking up a spot here. Tell him we're going to cut him and pick him up on the practice squad. Then after cut say, dang, we forgot you can't do practice squad as long as you been around however, good luck in all your future endevors

My interpretation here is that Ben ONLY comes in if Jones is hurt, correct? They wouldn't put Ben in based solely on ineffectiveness....I mean, I suppose they could do whatever they want to do, but that's the theory?

Watching Ben jump up on stage for the SB40 picture this AM in NFL network, he doesn't look too hurt! I wonder if it's all a ploy? Jones starts but then Ben comes in? Doesn't make sense to me too dress a man if you don't think he is ready to play???!

With the wild card race already heating up and the importance of this game, I'd expect Ben to play if Jones is playing horribly. We can't afford to drop another game with our remaining schedule... If we're losing and Jones is struggling hard, 7 is coming in

Did Michael Vick die? I assume the Steelers signed him for some purpose other than pissing off a portion of their fanbase. If Mike Tomlin just wanted Vick to get paid to do nothing, he could have gotten him a government job.

Ben looking good coming off the bench... Makes you wonder why they didn't send him out there as the starter? Either way it's good to see he isn't suffering any ill effects from his injury.

This was a surreal situation, for sure. I was getting worried Heath might have to go in there and take over the helm. I mean, y'all know I love Heath, but geesh. :lolol:

Not sure if it was talked about in another thread but my feeling is the Steelers knew/thought they could handle the Clowns without ben and giving Ben this week as well as the bye week to heal would be great for the rest of the season.
