I know I'm a newer member and this will instantly be ignored or negatively responded, but what if.... We do in fact lose to Browns. I don't care about their record. I watch almost every football game every week and k can say that besides last week, the Browns have been a decent team that cannot close. However, to us, it could mean being 0-3 in the division... So, what happens if we lose? Will it play a big role in playoffs?

Beating the Cardinals was cool, but I'd trade that win with the Chiefs loss. Beating the Chargers was cool, but I'd trade that win with the Ravens loss. Beating the Raiders was cool, but I'd trade it if we lose to Browns? 0-3 in division seems like it could result in something bad happening later... Just looking for some thoughts since the majority "guarantee" a win.

Losing is always a possibility. If that happens, I think it's as simple as: we need to win everything after the bye.

Every loss will play a big role in the playoffs.

    And welcome.

The division losses vs AFC losses are pretty much interchangeable at this point because the Steelers have little to no shot at the division where division record tiebreakers with Cincinnati would come into play. So beating the Chargers vs Ravens probably matters little. It would have been better to beat the Chiefs than AZ because they are an AFC team. I think the Raiders win is huge and better than beating the Browns Because it deals them an AFC loss and gives us the head to head. I do agree the Browns are not as awful as 2-6.

Steelers have to win this one. Going to have much harder games ahead and they need wins against any AFC teams badly.
Unless the Bengals fall to crap, which I don't see happening. They play the Texans Monday night.
If we win you don't have to worry about all the other stuff.
With all the injuries this season getting to 10-6 or 9-7 would be great. Get in the playoffs and see what happens.
I wouldn't want to play us.

If the playoffs were today Pitt would be the 6 seed, at this point Division wins are meaningless other than we need the division wins to count in the conference win column for a wildcard win total and a tiebreaker, pitt is 3 games and a tiebreaker behind the bengals so a division title is pretty hopeless at this point: So the only shot they have is to win as many games as they can in the AFC and hope at the end of the season it doesn't come down to a tiebreaker for the wildcard...The 7 games left to play are all in the AFC, with the exception of the seahawks, and the 3 toughest ones will be the seahawks, bengals and denver, and of course the rats who will be looking at our matchup as their superbowl, we need badly to win this game against the browns sunday, because these last six games after the bye are going to be the toughest stretch this year with 4 of them being away games.....

First, Welcome. Their are no guaranteed wins. But the clowns are weak, which history doesn't bod well for our team, usually losing to bottom feeders.
That being said this is another must win. Lose this game and the possibility of seeing playoffs gets a slim as dental floss.

Welcome and don't worry about content or comments if you have a solid point it will get discussed and several of us old timers will talk about anything its just a side effect in my case of being opinionated. At this point the team controls it's own destiny. They win and all is roses lose and we'll they had better win.

LOL. Rarely, does my wife stay home when the Steelers play because of my intensity but last week she did and somewhere in the middle of the game I said, If such and such happens I'm going to put my foot thru the TV. She rolled her eyes and said. You always say that but yet we never have a new TV.

Welcome and don't ever worry about stating the obvious or having doubts about an impending outcome on this MB. The mixed optimism we see from game to game (both positive and negative :lolol:) is a product of this year's performance and actual record no matter who we are playing. While most of the "experts" are picking the Steelers this week, that's straight up, not as many pick us to cover the 3.5 pt spread which is telling and quite sick when you think about our talent level, assuming, of course, they could ever suit up all at the same time.

Not a big thing but the line is 4.5 and has been all week and your right, with the talent on both teams it seems as if it should be larger. The Steelers just need to go out and beat the snot out of the Browns.

Thanks for being nice everyone! AFC is trash this year and I'm trying to mentally think of the steelers "biggest threats" and what the best outcomes would be if we did lose this one. Tonight's game is interesting because whatever team loses, you're sort of hoping they "lose out". I feel like realistically, the steelers only threats are Bills/Jets/Chiefs/Raiders/Texans? I don't even want to count Chiefs and Texans, but I guess I'd have to I think.

The H2H was a big win over Raiders. I just have an awful feeling about this game, and really don't trust in the Steelers to ever win-out if we would happen to lose. I feel like the 2 games against the Browns remaining SHOULD be the easiest two... And as someone said, about our matchup with Ravens being their Super Bowl, I almost feel like Browns may view it the same way since neither team enjoyed their games with Cincy. Will be interesting I'm sure and if it isn't, I'm sure the team will make it interesting.

I got a little out of control this last game against the Raiders. The BS penalties to stall the drive on Heath really blew me up since they had no holding calls on the Raiders line to that point. When they gave up the 4 play TD I was livid!

I actually broke the strap on my hat because I chucked it across the room!

Thank you Fan. Actually, the way we've been "just winning" when we do win - that full point is a biggie - may cause us to do something absurd...... like go for a 2 pt conversion at a strange time. :hehehe:
