Yep, if he is out 6 weeks, forget the season. If out 3 weeks he misses 2 games because of the bye, then have the rest of the year to get to full health and hopefully finish year with momentum. Even if we finished only 9-7 and end up being 6th seed, if we are healthy and have momentum at that time, we could beat anybody anywhere and win it all.

Thought they actually had an MRI at the stadium on gameday?

While it really sucks that he'll be out again, I was really worried that it would be worse than this. At least there is a bye in there while he's out.

I'm just basing this off of what the person above me said about getting an MRI. I always forget about the whole HIPPA thing applies to sports too which is why as fans we are not always told the truth at first or just get hearsay.

X-ray but not MRI at stadium. Big difference in cost.

    Maybe a fluoroscope.

How much does an MRI machine cost? Must be a bunch as you'd think with the millions they have invested in these players they'd have one on sight?

I agree the chickens are vulnerable and Peyton in the cold with his age and injuries gives us a great chance

Don't think it's so much the cost of the machine itself (well, it is, but that's a one-time cost unless they lease it) - but more the requirement of having to keep a radiologist on staff to operate it. Those folks make some coin.

You also have to have somebody who knows how to read an MRI, even some doctors can't read them.

well at least it gives him more time for the knee to heal while he's out. it could be better for us during the stretch run.

Funny - I had been re-checking if it was same leg (left) or now both and I read your post as saying "Reports of Ben missing 1-2 legs" and a certain Monty Python image flashed before me. All this and I'm sober as a Judge. :drinks:

I follow https://twitter.com/ProFootballDoc. This is not an ad

Someone tweeted a similar question at him about teams having their own MRI machines. He said the Bengals have one; but like some have mentioned, you have to be able to justify the initial cost of the machine, plus having a staff to operate it 24/7 to recover your costs, as well as interpret the scan.
Don't the Steelers have a tie-in with UPMC or something?

Why did I read the post above me in poem? Poe style.

Does being negative make you feel better? The steelers do not need to win out to get a wild card. More so if they win out they will have the wild card.

Landry Jones will go out there and do his job. The only thing you should be worried about is Williams' foot. That's a problem.

Yeah, and we know the NFL is too poor to be able to afford to pay a radiologist for 1 days pay a week....
