Also i read they wanted wilson to take over but dont know if he will be able to now. That just makes his completely horrible situation worse.

We need a young, innovative & creative type of OC, like Sean Payton of a few yeas ago. Jim Caldwell definitely doesn't fit that mode. Maybe someone more like Tom Clements, GB QB coach.

Is Clements interviewing for HC job somewhere? I thought I heard that he was.

I think he would a good fit for us. How long was he on our staff under Cowher, anyone remember?

Per GB website: "Prior to joining the Bills, Clements served as Pittsburgh’s quarterbacks coach for three seasons (2001-03) under Bill Cowher. In 2002, he helped Tommy Maddox earn the Comeback Player of the Year award from The Associated Press, as Pittsburgh’s passing offense ranked seventh in the NFL, its highest finish since 1980 with Terry Bradshaw under center".

Ummm.. no. Definitely not. Then we will just have two guys standing on the sidelines staring aimlessly into the field with an emotionless expression on their face.

Thanks. 2001 and 2002 were definitely some good years for the offense, first with Kordell in 01 and then Tommygun in 02. Hopefully he would be on our short list if BA does, in fact, (fingers crossed!!) "retire"

Yes because those emotional, foaming at the mouth screaming coaches win all the time. Works great for Rex Ryan.

How about Billick or Schottenheimer? Might as well consider every OC on the market right now.

    :roflmao:

Yes because there is ABSOLUTELY no inbetween. You can ONLY have a passive, introverted, hands-off coach or a loud, rabid buffoon...

I mean look at coaches like Sean Payton, Mike McCarthy, hell as much as it pains me, the Harbaugh brothers... their teams look miles ahead of ours right now and they are not only cognitive and insightful and not crazy and obnoxious but they also get INVOLVED with whats going on, on the field and the sidelines. You see them pulling players aside, you see them building reports with the Referees and mixing it up with their coordinators and personnel coaches. Tomlin simply stands there ALL game and has the same expression whether we throw an 80 touchdown or have an 80 yard pick six against us.

And yet Tomlin has 2 SB to his name. An animated coach or an non animated coach means nothing on Sundays. It's what the guy does during the week that matters and we as fans have no clue what goes on then.

I don't give Tomlin credit for the first superbowl, he inherited most of that team.

Its not about being animated or not. Its about being involved. He doesn't get involved in whats going on and he REFUSES to make personnel or scheme changes throughout a game which DIRECTLY lead to our loss in Denver. And hes has been to two Superbowls he only won one and although you cannot take away all the credit because he inherited the team (i mean how is that his fault he did best you can do) it does weigh in.

I think Tomlin is a brilliant guy and I am not saying he is a bad coach I just think there are situations and times we will be at a disadvantage due to the way he coaches or the lack thereof.
