Actually, I'm pretty sure that many of those websites like PFF who rank players do it based on video review by people with enough knowledge to do a credible job grading them play by play. So, while its more objective than fan opinions, it's not hard stats.

I get that, but they are using data and statistics and some type of mathematical formula to come to their conclusions. Not quite the same as some guy just saying that they're the worst in the league and not having any facts to back up his statement with.

Elvis, at first glance, the Colts, Redskins, and Eagles may have a worse starting LG than Foster. I will keep digging. I didn't know that PFF was a subscription service until just now.

Geez, Glenn, it is the same. Those sites, whether it's PFF or football outsiders, still have some guy watching every snap and giving grades based on their opinion. I get it, my opinion based on watching every steelers snap is just an opinion. But so is theirs and so is yours. There are no concrete stats to base this on. NFL leading passer last year was Ben. We can count his yards. It's quantifiable. NFL best OLine last year was Dallas. We can't count yards or sacks given up. Were they the best because of Demarco Murray's speed or Romo's elusiveness? We can't say. It's subjective.

My opinion remains that the line we played with today is the worst in the league.

Your opinion is that it's not.

    We can agree to disagree.

It's an absurd statement. Our o-line would be one of the best if we were healthy. As now we are probably avg at pass protection and pretty good run blockers. When I read posts like this it just makes me realize the person posting doesn't have a clue.

    Insults? Really?
Talk about an absurd statement, "our o-line would be one of the best if we were healthy". They're not healthy. That's what we're talking about in this thread. Today's offensive line, the one on the field for the Steelers today. Not the imaginary one where they're all healthy and available. Reading the thread may help you get a clue, drunkard.

I'm thinking that AV might just be the future for them. He's just being given a trial by fire due to the situation. He's never played a full game at LT until these last 2 weeks and he's actually not done totally horrible.

I would say that him and Foster do not have communication on the delayed stunts and the chemistry to stay on the same level as Beachum did.

Beachum, had the quickness to get back when Foster got pushed in pass protection and the chemistry to know when it was going to happen. Av just needs the experience and he's got the size and strength for the spot.

    Foster is Foster....

    Seahawks
    Bears
    49ers,
    Redskins
    Lions
    Rams
    Bucs
    Bills

A line that I have to watch a lot since I'm in Wisconsin is the Packers, which I think is very similar to our line. At times it looks great, protects Rodgers and opens holes for RBs, and other times it lets people through like wet tissue paper. Rodgers is on his back constantly.

You may be right about the Bears and Bucs, Frost. I think the Seahawks, niners, and skins all have premiere LT's.

What you said about the Packers is an eye opener for me. I've only watched two of their games this year and I thought they looked solid. I never would have guessed they had similar issues. Good to know. Maybe my expectations are too high.

The Browns aren't going to make a trade to help the Steelers. I would go after Joe Staley LT of the 49ers, they suck and might be willing to make a trade.
