I am worried that he is coming back too soon, I read reports that he still has swelling in his knee last week. It always seems like when players come back too soon they get hurt again. One good hit to the legs and that could be a disaster if his knee is not healed and fully stable. I feel like we are bringing him back early because it is a must win scenario not because he is ready.

He has a medical release to play, do you know something the team surgeon doesn't????

It could be a risk... Maybe he should rest one more week... Or maybe rest until he retires so he could be healthy for his HOF speech

Yeah I see a lot of players cleared to play that are not ready so being cleared means nothing. I think the division race is a long shot, I would rather he be healthy then risk the season for 1 game.

Is one more week going to matter that much?
Maybe they have done exactly what you are saying by not playing him last week and waiting till this week.

The original timeline was 4-6 weeks most people said it was a 6 week injury, now he is back after 4. I just have a bad feeling about it especially with reports of swelling in the knee when he tried to practice limited last week. Also if he can't move around well he can't exactly protect himself.

I don't think anyone could be sure either way but I do know that we are risking further injury to our season if he don't.

Well, unless the team doctor is a board member, we're not going to get responses that are anything but speculation. I do understand the concern given what we saw after Ben's ankle injury in 2011. He was ridiculously far from being truly ready, and was trotted onto the field against a top-tier defensive front.

I guess we have to hope that they know what they're doing. This game is pretty close to a must win for the division, but nowhere near a must win for a wild card.

Every player is at risk of injury on any given play

Well hopefully they will be smart about it, but Tomlin sounds like he has his mind made up regardless of what Ben thinks.

I thought he would play last week. Keep losing games in the AFC and when it comes to tiebreakers they might be outside looking in. This is a must win if they want any chance of taking the division. Knock them off and their might be a possibility to take the division.

To me, being medically cleared to play means he is no more at risk than he would any other time to injure it.

How sharp he is and being a risk for further injury is too different things. He may not be sharp but I dont believe there will be any added risk for injury.

#7 HAS to play in this game. Who else gives us the best chance to win?

Am I the only one who sees this as all smoke screens and mirrors? I guarantee the Bengals are prepping for Ben playing. They couldn't care less about about Landry and they'd die laughing if Vick started.

They said the swelling was normal for his type injury and that it had not caused any further injury.
Once the real doctor (not the Internet doctor) clears him to play then he should play.
I mean the dr. knows what he does for a living. If he clears him to go back then that's that.

Football is a violent game played by violent people.
The Steelers will have paid him north of 200 Mill over his career
if the Dr's give him the green light. then put on the cleats.

Relax people, if he's still hurting then he shouldn't play. It's that simple. If Ben knowingly plays when he knows he probably shouldn't, then it's on him. There's no time for heroes. He'll just be hurting the team if he's not ready. I don't think a one-legged Ben is better than Landry Jones. God, I hate that name....reminds me of the Cowboys!!!
