In today's NFL where the greed and corruption of King Roger and the 32 owners is sickening; the buffoonery and limited IQ of the players is disgusting; I am really looking forward to rooting for Alejandro Villanueva! I remember watching Rocky Bleier play and it just makes me feel good when you know a guy who is solid human being is getting his chance.

I hope he shines in an outing to help the Steelers cement their impending dominance!

Its easy to root for him for sure. Definitely a feel good story. Would be awesome if he becomes a stud LT.

He did well last week, as I recall. Will definitely be good to see a bit more of what he has to offer, and like you say, easy to root for.

In contrast to some of our *ahem* other recent signings.

I think he's got a shot under Munchak's coaching to be very good. Great athletic ability and good feet.

Same here, @Stone@Stone! It's a little hard to believe AV is starting at LT. It wasn't long ago that he was a defensive lineman in Philadelphia. I've rooted for him hard since he got here. I hope he kicks ass and takes names.

I worry that AV and Landry are both making their first starts if they both struggle the Steelers will be in trouble, I hope I'm wrong though.

Honestly I do not see why you would care that much about an LT.. How many LT have come and gone and this guy is your hero ?

I'm hoping he's our next LT and one heckuva tackle eligible down field... Shake it up. Put Beach at LG next season. Go nuts!!!

So, a LT can't be a mentor to others?

He's a good fill in and a good guy. I want him around because you can count on him to be there. He's already proven that.

Maybe something to do with his service to the country, along with him being a general long shot to do anything in the NFL to having a chance to start? He seems to be a really good dude too.

Just because he isn't a skill position player, doesn't mean he doesn't have people rooting hard for him.

I watched him play WR while he was at Army. The transition has been amazing to watch.

Yup. I get that.. I just found it a bid odd the fascination with him in particular. Figured it had something to do with his service that got you excited lol

You must be a youngster. In today's NFL, it's nice to have a guy who isn't a bum, or a wife beater, or a street urchin with a single digit IQ. It's because some things are bigger than football.
