No, not because of Landry :lolol:

Because we held Arizona to 13 points

The defense was the big question mark this year, they are playing better than even I thought they'd be at this point. Should only continue to get better from here.

By the time the playoffs gets here, we should be one heck of a football team. An explosive offense AND defense??? I like it. I like it alot. :steelflag:

I'm especially pleased with the takeaways they're generating. We've been missing that the last few years.

I think some of the are a result of pressure, which has also been missing these last few years

Slow your roll, they have suffered a lot of injuries to overcome. The offense will be scary once Ben gets back though.

I agree, the only thing that scares me is our stupid tendency to beat ourselves in games we should win.

Yep. It`s all starting to gel on defense. We just need to be healthy at playoff time and we can beat anybody.

It`s a wonderful evening after that win and it`s a great feeling knowing we are in position to compete for another championship.

The only for sure thing SB bound this season right now is goofy commercials which my wife will finally pay attention to towards the NFL.

This Defense is finding its identity. Im impressed with their heart, ability to create turnovers and physical conditioning. They arent laying down in the 4th quarter anymore.
I hope we can hold on to Butler, teams were already showing interest in him...

And you gotta love Cockrell's heart - he's trying really hard to be a ball hawk. He's making a lot of mistakes right now, but at least he's around the ball when it gets to the receiver, unlike some of our past CBs.

We have a lot of injuries to overcome. But so far, this team seems able to overcome them.

And when we get healthy, look out.

This game is the kind of game that galvanizes a team. Proves to them that if they just keep fighting they can win. An inferior team, and some Steeler teams in the past for that matter, would have folded in the first half today and packed it in.

Denver is one half of a good team. Their record is a sham.

Cinci seems for real, but we'll know for sure once we face them.

And New England is New England.

It won't be easy, but I'm liking our chances.

I'm not totally sold on Cinci. They've looked impressive at beating bad teams. The Seattle game was the hardest and they are ?3-3?

The Steelers are winning with backup QBs against the same teams, and just shut down the #1 ranked offense while the Bengals gave up 24 to a withered Bills offense.

    They really aren't that scary.

P.S. The Ravens game counts as a win in my book

The fight and determination this team (including Ben on the sidelines) has while Ben is out is so refreshing. They are doing this for Ben. They are doing this for Steelers Nation. They are doing this for the City of Pittsburgh, and blah blah blah. But, most importantly, they are doing this for and as the band of brothers they have become.

I am very pleasantly surprised by the defense,
Carson Palmer has really never been a premier
QB in my eyes, but he has tons of playing experience
and the Steelers created enough turn overs to win. Great job.

    I worry about the injuries.

Also about maintaining focus - keeping doing what works, and not doing the kind of crazy stuff that Haley likes to pull every so often.

But other than that, yesterday raised my excitement level about our prospects considerably.

Definitely starting to get the feel of something special going on.

What really strokes my rod is that this offense should return in tact next year and the defense should continue to improve. R
Looking ahead, I think that next year is definitley their year.

Ben out, Pouncey out, Bell and Bryant missed time. We're getting closer to getting them all back and Beach goes down but AV looked decent... I love the Offense. Hopefully we see Shaz back soon and Tuitt isn't missing time. That front 7 is getting it done, Mitchell looks better and the CBs are being aggressive (biggest difference to me - I'll take the occasional penalty, too). We have a chance. Could be 6-0 if not for cycling through ****ing kickers.

Going forward, I think Cortez is done here. I was somewhat surprised he wasn't cut this summer. I hope most of Gay, Cockrell, Boykin, and Blake return (though I'd be tempted to try Blake at FS). Add in (hopefully) a high pick at CB and getting the midget 2nd rounder this year and that's fine with me.

Seeing the D turning things around is very refreshing. I am really loving the way Butler has been calling his defense this season. He's opening the door for them a lot more and allowing them to make more plays. We needed the D more than every these past few games with the heart of our offense on the sidelines and Vicks head up his you know what. I feel a lot better this morning with Jones filling in for Ben and knowing it's only a mater of a week or two (more than likely) until Bens return. Things are starting to look really positive for us. :dancing:
