At what point do you think we will see Jones in at QB or do you think not at all. If not at all why is he even on the roster?

I admit that I do this at times too, but I like how fans really think that they can really stick it to the team by saying something or thinking something that is different than what is already completely obvious.

Landry Jones is on the team as the backup to our current starter, Vick. He will remain on the team because it is the backups role to come in when the starting QB becomes incapacitated. The team isn't going to simply cut him because he "isn't playing". He is the backup the the current starter.

Why is Jimmy Garoppolo on the Patriots if he isn't good enough to replace Brady? With your logic, they should cut him too, right?

If Vick gets hurt while Ben is down then the next man up is Landry. What's so hard to understand?

if brady went down, do you think they would bring in another back up to play or would garoppolo start?

What is hard to understand is why Vick is playing and clearly has no knowledge of the offense. It seemed to me that from his first start to his second, he played worse.

I hear you loud and clear and also completely agree but if Vick wasn't pulled during yesterday's game then he isn't gonna be pulled at all in order to give the ball to Landry. Tomlin has always played favorites to certain players even while they're under performing. That doesn't mean that Landry should be kicked to the curb in case Vick gets injured while Ben is still down. The next option would probably be James Harrison and I'd hate to see that experiment.

Vick has done a decent job. He probably is the better option.

The part that is annoying is listening to Tomlin gush over him at every opportunity. Head coach or #1 fan?

Seriously. I've never seen Tomlin talk up Ben that much and most coaches don't talk u their own players much ever.

Vick wasn't brought in because Ben went down, he was brought in because Gradkowski did.

Even if they'd promoted Jones to no.2., they'd have still had to bring in someone else to fill in at no.3. As it was, they considered Vick to be better than Jones. The guy has a ton more NFL experience, so not too surprising - even if, like Coastal, I was calling for Jones to see the field against SD.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. Over/under what?
    25-1 sounds about right.

    25-1 anytime in the season?
more like 4-1 anytime this season
it has to be something like
    over /under 3 weeks
    or
    week
    6 2-1
    7 2-1
    8 4-1
    9 ..
    10
    11
    12
    13
    14
    15
    16
17 2-1 good odds because we are resting players for homefield adv throughout playoffs

just saying if the odds are at 25-1 we see LOL play this year
I'm putting a 100 on it because it is very possible he could play some next week
    50/50 chance I say

Unless Mike Vick gets hurt, you are not going to see Landry Jones.

Vick's slow mechanics don't rule this out, though... he seems to end a lot of plays on the floor.

Tomlin is so in love with vick he would rather lose the game than yank him out, why in the world would this team bring in a QB to run a gifted pass oriented offense that is not an accurate passer, and just a shell of his former self, there had to be a passer available to be had, of course I would have started LJ to begin with............

He was wincing after a couple. With Ben likely coming back the following week, doesnt really matter anymore.

Lets hope the defense is up to stopping Arizona or Sunday will be ugly.

It's funny, even I was calling for Jones early in the 4th quarter, and I've seen nothing that suggests that Jones is a legit NFL QB. However, as badly as Vick played during the 1st 3 quarters, he did make a few key plays when it really counted, and I don't think we get that from Jones.

I think I called the over/under a few weeks ago in a thread and was thinking about 2.5 games was the line..... so if Vick makes it to halftime of the AZ game.... he will have exceeded my expectations :)

I see your point, but I'd probably feel that about Gradkowski as well. Maybe even Batch. I don't expect highlight reel plays, but just keeping the ball, and stretch the field if the chance arises.

I'd still prefer to see Jones out there over Vick, but at the same time know that won't happen.

I doubt we will see him if Vick stays healthy against Arizona. Vick while not pretty is .500 and if he gets the win this weekend that the team is 2-1 with Vick at QB. The hope I have is that Vick finally gained some confidence in the 4th quarter and will trust his reads and pass the ball downfield over the middle.

He's probably just trying to give the guy some confidence, I wouldn't read too much into it. Vick is a back up, so giving him some praise when we win, or when he plays well might help him out. Idk.

He doesn't have to gush about Ben. Ben knows how good he is (and so does everyone else), and doesn't need the continued praise of his HC.

Which side you betting on? I'd be willing to bet every dime I own that Vick starts the game if he enters Sunday healthy.

Now, if we get rolled and Vick is playing horribly... Or if Vick goes down with an injury, then Landry will play. Those are the only two scenarios that will get Landry on the field. I hope neither happens.
