For all the talk about Ben not being elite in this what have you done for me lately world, we must ask, who is elite? Certainly not Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees, they turned the ball over and didn't win. Let's not be so quick to judge a QB who was hurt. We have 2 superbowls, and the runs that led to them, thanks in part, to Big Ben. We must look at the sum total of his career to judge his status. Wins, playoff wins, and superbowl wins are what is most important to me.

The whole elite thing can be a flavor of the month type thing. Ben was elite after SB XLIII, then it's been Brees and Rodgers... now it'll be Eli (I'm praying it's not shady brady or the niners... or God forbid, Flake-O)

    Flake-O, that's a good one. I've heard and used:
    Sloppy Joe
    Fluke-O
    Puke-O

I about pissed myself when I saw the fans with those stupid mustaches! It looks like he is trying, badly I might add, to look like a 70's porn star.

This makes no sense. You say Brees and Rodgers aren't elite due to them having turnovers in one, then you go on to say that Ben is elite based on his career stats and his SB wins from years ago.

Brees and Rodgers are two of the best QB's the game has ever seen and they will be in the hall of fame one day. Ben isn't and won't be. Eli won't be in the hall either.

All QBs have up and downs, even elite (some of them have had them in SBs, like Manning & Ben, or playoff games, like the rest)
    IMO:
    Elite: P Manning (1), T Brady (3), D Brees (1), A Rodgers (1), B Roethlisberger (2), E Manning (1)
Above average: M Vick, M Ryan, P Rivers
    Starters, but nothing else: M Sanchez, J Flacco, T Tebow, C Palmer, A Smith, , S Bradford
Still developing -judgement pending-: M Stafford, C Newton

    (*) indicates SB wins

You know if Eli wins a second Superbowl, the debate will be on about who is the bet QB in the 2004 draft.

I'm okay with that debate. If Phillip Rivers wasn't such a choker the 2004 draft could be argued to be better than the 1984 draft. So far, the 2004 draft class has 3 superbowl wins, the 1984 class had 2 (I'm guessing they were 2-8 or was it 2-9? Not sure about the NE guy in 1986).

Why would Ben be in the hall? He hasn't had great numbers for most of his career. 2 SB wins won't get you in the hall when the rest of your numbers are just good but not great.

2 SB wins and a 3rd appearance, and his numbers are already much better than Bradshaw's... and his career isn't over yet.

1 won't but 2 will and if Ben wins another which I think he will then the debate is over.

I didn't rate Stafford lower than Tebow. In fact, I didn't rate him at all: it says "still developing, judgement pending", which means they aren't rated (Stafford & Newton). Another similar season and he will be above average, until he proves he can win a Playoff game at least.

Just love to hear peoples opinions is all.....Why is Bradford ranked starter and Stafford "unranked" What has Bradford done that Stafford has not?
IMO Bradford is right there with Rivers and Ryan.

First, calling them not elite was sarcasm. The thing about humor is that it should have some thread of truth to it. The truth is that Rodgers and Brees didn't have good games and last week there were some who were ripping Ben for not getting it done. Well, he has gotten it done. Now, as far as Rodgers making the HOF, certainly if he stays on the tragectory that he is on now, he will make it. But, if his career is tragically shortened or his play falters at this point he doesn't have enough years in the bank to rely on. I think Ben is much the same way. He is on a trajectory with winning percentage and championships won to qualify. However, take a look at all of the current QB's who may qualify. Will they all make it? Right now, Favre, Manning, and Brady are definites. Brees and Ben need a few more seasons. Rodgers certainly has a leg up with his performance, but how long has he been a starter? 4 years? Didn't Derek Anderson put up at least 2 good years? Before everyone has a heartattack, I'm not saying those two are even in the same league, just saying that Anderson had a pretty darn good year the one year but that does not a hall of fame career make. Lots of QB's from the past haven't made it who have had great years. As a Steeler fan, I sure as hell hope that Ben has a bunch of great years left that will put him in the HOF on the first ballot. Rooting for a few more championships also.

They already say it's Eli and thats with one Superbowl. I swear if Eli won this year and next year I would still defend that he is a bumbling idiot. And not a decent quarterback let alone an ELITE quarterback its seriously laughable that this discussion is even going on. Worst decision maker in football. One of the best receiving cores in football. Go to sleep tonight and dream about Eli being our quarterback, with our line, and think about where we would be. Im not even sure Eli's the best quarterback in NY...
