in the nfl , it seem as though, teams not players...have a window of opportunity to won the big one. We have a potent offense and surprisingly good performing defense. But with, suspensions, injuries to key players, and high draft picks not living up to their scouting report..let alone losing draft picks because of a botched trade. We used to be so good,if not great,in the draft and trades...what happened?!

They still have time most of their good players are still in their prime, injuries are derailing the season though.

our trades still have 3/4 of a season to go and may still be worthy. boykin prevented a TD in one game so it's not a total loss by any means. williams is still playing well in a backup role and did so as a starter. spaeth is back this weak. our D is fairly healthy besides shazier. bens off crutches and jogging. DHB has stepped up. we have a new kicker. all is not lost yet the season is still young and we have 5 more division games left. if we can scrap a couple of ugly wins together we will be fine. all is not lost.

Mac's right - early days yet.

There's been talk of the window closing for a long time now on this team. Against that is the fact that parity has been alive and well for the last few seasons. While it's true we could be doing better without the injuries and suspensions and kickers, the chances have still been there, and will continue to be.

Our window is getting smaller because of Bens age. But you can't help injuries. Just part of the game.. Although You can help stupidity *cough* Bryant, Bell *cough* But good teams find a way to win through injuries. Just need Vick and the gang to pull one or two out until Ben comes back.. And then hopefully we can go on a little bit of a run. Sky isn't falling yet. You can put your umbrellas away for a little while anyway

The lamest thing about Monday night is the fact that Antonio Gates is coming back. It would be really helpful for us if he weren't. The rats just lost to the clowns though and I think that works in our favor. I think we can take both games against them and if Ben is healthy in Baltimore we will absolutely murder them mercilessly.

BTF - they just passed a bill allowing mercy killings in Cali a few weeks ago - maybe this will come in handy tomorrow night at the Murph and we will absolutely say what you suggested! :hmm:

Not exactly on topic but anyone think that the Pats would be interested in a straight up trade of Deon Lewis for Dri Archer? This guy has been out of football for what - 18 months - and is back now absolutely tearing up the league including the Cowpersons today. One would think that the Steelers would at some point draft/acquire the occasional good player or two from their locker neighbors - the Pitt Panthers. What Panthers have we drafted over the years? Jerry O, Hank Poteat.....???

If we give it to Bell we can certainly make that happen.

Interesting take. Before this season started, I said that I thought our window would be really opening up for 2016 - 2017, and that we're probably a year away, so I clearly disagree that it's closing.

Gonna take some work on the secondary I think. Good grief man if we had had this offense with our recent dominant defenses or even just a SOMEWHAT dominant defense we would need more trophy cases!

Oh just another Pitt Panther tearing it up, lets see Revis, Fitzgerald,Shady, Donald, Sheard, Lewis right under our noses at the same practice facility. Makes you wonder? 2 more future NFL stars are currently on the Pitt Roster Tyler Boyd and James Conner will be playing on Sunday's next year.

I think we will need a lot more than just Bell.. The come of Woodhead, Allen ,and Gates are going to do a lot of damage to this Defense.

We will need a lot of points IMO.

Our O line isn't physical enough to handle big front fours. Otherwise then yes we could destroy anyone.
