Has anyone heard that the Dolphins may have an interest in Todd Haley? I haven't been able to find any credible information that would indicate that but someone asked that question in a PPG chat (Dulac I think?) and it didn't seem to be challenged. Just wondering if anyone else has heard that.

I hope not as stability at the coordinator positions is vital to long-term stability and success for the team. Just look at how disjointed the Ravens have been the last few seasons with the constant influx of new coordinators.

I think after the horrible experience he had in Kansas City he would be more selective with whatever hot mess he steps into. The dolphins are a mess and it would be a huge rebuilding job with plenty of headaches not sure anyone who had a bad last job will want another one.

What's really hilarious is that Stephen A Smith his this harebrained idea that the reason Haley makes some questionable calls from time to time is because he is trying to convince people that he is actually supposed to be a HC and not an OC. That's just dumb but I am with you that I don't think he would want to go to a mess like Miami. I would really hate to see him go more than anybody around here would because I have such deep love for his playbook and scheme. I mean I am the president of his fan club after all. LOL.

Remember the discussion we had on here about Munch taking a position coach's job after being a head coach and a lot of people didn't see it even after Haley took the OC job as well? I would go into those discussion going yeah for a lot of people getting a Head Coaching job is a dream come true and would never want to take a step back. Yet for a lot of these coaches it is an eye opener and getting the bigger paycheck and the prestige also means you get more headaches, more blame and are ultimately more expendable when owners and GM's mess with the team. I mean look at the Redskins, there is a hot mess that I don't think any head coach would envy. If you have an owner that can't work with Gibbs and Shanahan and who spends money on free agents left and right that don't fit the team, well that is never going to get fixed until someone tells him to butt out. Which I don't see happening.

Yep. If you've got the choice of job, you go with the one you enjoy more. Haley likes drawing up offensive schemes. Lebeau liked devising blitzes. Neither seemed to get on too well with the hundred other things the HC job brings with it.

I would put Dallas in the category of undesirable teams to coach because they have an obnoxious owner that thinks he's a "football" guy when really he's just a "business" guy and there's a huge difference. For the life of me, I've never been able to understand how every owner in the league can't just say "Ya know the Rooney's have 6 trophies and they just let coaches coach and coordinators coordinate. So maybe I should do the same???" These morons like Snyder and Jerry Jones that think they can run the football side of things are just narcissistic ego maniacs and I would never want to work for them.

Well, HC make $2-3million/yr and co-ordinaters make $500k. I suspect he'd step into any hot mess like that. Worst case get fired after 2 yrs, you can still be a co-ordinater after you've made 10 yrs of co-ordinaters salary after failing as HC.
If the Dolphins really want Haley, he's gone.

    This.

Also, Tannehill is a good QBand the Dolphins have some decent talent especially on D. They are a .500 team so it is likely a good coach can have them in the playoffs regularly especially after Brady retires.

Yes and no. Coaches like knowing he will spend the money to stock the team. Thats an attraction in itself.

The Dolphins are not a rebuilding team. They have a ton of talent.

I don't know man. Maybe they are more just a "paper tiger"? I really don't think Tannehill is anything to write home about. Cameron Wake was a beast though. Suh hasn't done jack and there were reports that he was "freelancing" but who knows if that's true or not?

Paper talent is still talent, it just requires the right coaching to bring it out. Suh is a beast, he just obviously wasn't playing for Philbin. Wake is a beast. Parker and Landry are both very good WR's. Miller is a good RB. Tannehill is a good QB. That team may never get it together, but there is plenty of talent there.

If a coaching change doesn't change things we will know if all these players are the real deal or not. I just don't have a ton of confidence in their FO after they broke the bank for Mike Wallace. I'd say there's definite buyer's remorse there.

No Morris. The inmates are running the asylum in Miami. You got tannahill insulting practice squad guys, Suh not even dressing for practice. for ME to take that job I would demand 8 million a year. Bet philbin is getting that now. I would also demand a 5 year contract, to be paid in full if I got fired and also the power to point at a guy and say CSMO = old military/Marine Corps term, means Collect Sh*t and Move Out AKA your fired
    And I ain't even a coach yet!

The players are now telling or told the coaches to get bent. Unless you can cut them/take their money or trade them, you can't get control
