well if you look at it. I think scobee has cost us two games. one I know, the ravens. it might have been alittle different with the pats if he hits those

The nightmare for me is Scobee lands w/ a team and kicks the game winning FG against us.

Saw a problem, and addressed it...
    Is Tomlin still in charge?

I know nothing of Boswell`s history, how long ago that kick was with Rice, is he better than Washington`s ex-kicker, Kai(or whatever his name was)etc...

But we HAD to move on from Scobee.:thumbs up:

    GO STEELERS!...:towel:

(And if he fails, we can always say he just crawled out from under a rock, since Tomlin vowed... "We will leave no stone un-turned"...)...

Edit... After reviewing the "Career Notes", from Myron`s post ...

He made like 164 of 172 extra point attempts, or something like that?!?

Who misses EIGHT P.A.T.`s, in college, where they still kick 20 yarders, or whatever???

Were there extenuating circumstances on the misses? Blocks/Etc?

I can hear the conspiracy theorists on the board now, claiming Tomlin picked him, so he can justify going for 2, since his kicker was poor at them in college... LOL!:goofy:...

EDit again, from the same bullet point..

    He made about 65 of 88 FG`s???

Not gonna do the math, but wouldn`t that be about the same percentage Scobee was on pace for?!?

It didn`t break down distance, situation, etc...

But that`s roughly 75% completion on field goals...

Unless he tried a lot of long ones, or something else skewed the numbers...

    That don`t sound too good...:hmm:

We are still wasting more on Allen, Thomas, Mitchell, Boykin and Woodley though. LOL. I seriously hope the guy can kick. The only thing that ticks me off is we didn't even attempt to trade him to the clowns for a first round pick. I'm sure we could have made that happen. Also just leave it to Colbert and Tomlin to get rid of Scobee just the very second my jersey of him arrives.

All college kickers miss several extra points and fg's throughout the year. It's very common and not at all a surprise. Don't forget, they're still young kids, who never really kicked before college. Most of them learn the art while in college.

Ok, I also just noticed that he made about 14 from 50 yards plus...

Sounds like they sent him out for a lot of long ones.
It doesn`t say out of the 88, how many were 50 yards, plus...

Like I said... Scbee HAD to go!
I thought we picked up a hig percentage veteran kicker...

He didn`t live up to the billing, IMHO...

    GO STEELERS!

Basically Scobee cleared about a million per kick here. Not bad work if you can get it. LOL. Or did he get paid by the miss???

I don't think the Steelers are going to be playing in the CFL anytime soon. Scobie on the other hand.

Can he kick the ball through the endzone on kickoffs? I want to see this, too!

Here is an answer to my last reply...

"Boswell made all four of his field-goal attempts and had 2 of 6 kickoffs go for touchbacks during this preseason for New York. Last preseason for Houston, Boswell was 2 for 2 on field goals, but just 2 of 10 kickoffs went for touchbacks."

It looks like our special teams had better be ready to make a tackle!

The good news is woodley is off the books after this year and Allen, Mitchell, and Thomas have nothing guaranteed left so they can go without us taking a hit for them. The Steelers should have plenty of cap space to play with next year.

You think Jordan Berry may handle kickoff duties?

I was just reading that his base salary of $2,500,000 was guaranteed so that would be $416,000 per kick. Great work if you can get it.

I did not post the aforementioned "Career Notes".....That was posted by Doubleyoi who is using a Myron avatar. His thoughts and post are his and mine are mine. PLEASE do not confuse us as one and the same.

That's what I was thinking. When the announcer said "OK Rice fans..." I was wondering just who the heck he was talking to.

Anyone know why they keep signing multiple year, or in Scobee's case extending, contracts of these kickers? Are they not expecting Suisham to be back as the kicker when he heals? He tore the ACL in his left knee, which is his non-kicking knee so that SHOULDN'T affect his kicking.

Oh crap, the one good things Sckoobe do had was touchbacks on kickoffs. Hate relying on special teams to make a tackle.

I'm not feeling good this guy doesn't have regular season experience, but I'm hoping for the best...
