With all the talk about our kicker, our punter also had a very bad game last night. We were dubbing him the next Ray Guy and last night it looked like Bobby Walden could have out punted him.

Anyway, I checked the stat line and he's been averaging anywhere from 44-49 ypg. Last night he was at 40 yards for the game.

I realized it was a little windy, but his leg just didn't seem to have the same kind of pop to it as before and I thought he looked a little awkward. Could he be injured?

 

Just a bad game. It happens. I believe he will be fine.

 

yep, i agree he didn't help as much as he could have. he was about 10 yards shorter on average that night then on the year so far. 10 more yards could have been huge in that game.

 

Hope this was an anomoly.

He was kicking bombs in the Pre Season, so he has the ability obviously. Young guy jitters perhaps? Whatever it is, I hope he gets it corrected quickly. He was not good the other night.

I seem to remember there being some strong pressure from the Ravens. There was a bit of a shank on one punt - can't remember what happened off hand, but he had to rush the kick. That probably brought the average down.

Just an off-night all round, all things considered.

 

He just looked jittery to me. Maybe the pressure of the heated rivalry got to him a bit.

 

I like the kid....I still would like to see him boom one in bad weather because we're are gonna have alot of bad weather games.
