And boom, there it is, Scooby doo era coming to an end already.

So how many picks we down already next year? No 5th and 7th? And that 5th may be a 4th although doesnt look like it at the moment.

Good. That doesn't discount the fact that Tomlin should've sent Scobie back out there for the 50 yard OT attempt. He had plenty of distance. Oh' well, If they just never suit him up again that will probably ease my mind a bit.

Steelers will host former Texans kicker Chris Boswell tomorrow. Boswell was a UDFA who didn't make their 53 and spent time on their practice squad.

I can live with the 5th and 7th and the kicker money disappears from the cap after this season, except for Sushi whom I want back. The problem is these two loses are likely to loom big when we just miss out on the wild card.

I'd have definitely lined that turd up from 50 and let him try again. It may have gone in on sheer luck alone. It's not like the O was going to score a TD and time was running down. Just a ****ty, awful game.

So, per spotrac.com Scobee's salary is 2.5 million, and there is no dead money hit if he's cut. I think if we cut him, there are no cap implications: 2.5 million is removed from our team salary and whatever we pay the new kicker is added. Do I have that right TTF?

Ok I changed the name of thread to cover all kickers. Add Randy Bullock to the list of those trying out.

Can we try out some head coaches too?

I do kind of feel bad for Scobee- but I just don't understand why he's doing so bad! In his career, he's made 241/301 field goals and 323-329 extra points. His longest field goal is 59 yards & he was AFC player of the week 8 times. (One of them was in 2014.)
Is he unhappy here? Does he not like Pittsburgh? Tomlin? Michael Vick? How do you go from being a great kicker to being very very bad?

For a career he is only at like 73% from 40-50 yards I think Suisham hit 30 some straight from that distance or something like that.

the only trouble with forbath is short kickoffs. he's pretty acurate, but many kickoffs are returned.

Scobee isn't that old, 33, but it does seem like he has hit a wall. The Jags obviously knew that.

You hate to see a guy lose his job, especially when the guy seems to be a good guy.

I wonder if Berry, being new, is holding the ball weird or wrong?

Exactly. We can't forget that the Jags got rid of him, so they obviously thought they could do better. Good kickers are hard to find and you don't get rid of one unless you have to.

This. The Jags were jumping with joy to let him go. The expectations in the Steel City are high. Jacksonville there is NO expectations. The pressure i'm sure he felt after the 2 misses against the Cheats probably were fresh in his mind being bashed. He is done...Unless he goes to a team with lowered expectations...
