Hahaha he just tweeted lets keep this simple....bring me back to Pittsburgh. He really can't be any worse and was really clutch there for awhile.

 

that drunk don't need to be anywhere near here. he was thrown out of the hall of fame game for being drunk and fighting in the stadium. hell no.

There were also multiple reports that he was talking to the cops about the guy that was trying to fight him all game and instead of having him kicked out he left so the fan could continue to watch the game. Have him be the guy to punch Tomlin in the face everytime he does something dumb with 5 minutes left lol. Knock some sense into him.

Yeah like he said give me a try out if I suck then don't sign me. Didn't he have a couple offers or something from the CFL but said no because he is an NFL kicked.

 

At least he hit it Scobee would have missed and hit the wall.

 

Last year I went to the Fantasy Camp they put on in May in Latrobe. Reed was one of the former players that were there and he was doing kicking instruction. I watched him practice his kicking when he wasn't doing the camp activities. Granted it was not in Heinz, but he was hitting them pretty consistently from 50 yards out.
The question is, if they bring someone else in (either him or someone else), how long of a leash do they give them? One game? 3? How do you know if the kicker is just having an off night or there's something in their head (like I believe the case with Scobee)

 

I received a text alert on my phone from the Steelers which stated, "STEELERS: Jeff Reed: Try me out. If I suck, don't sign me."

The guy's a goofball, but hey, why not? Bring him in and see what he can do. We're desperate at this point.

 

This is the big question for me.

Sure, we want some kind of payback for the loss, and sure it was largely on his shoulders. But are we going to fire the kicker every time he misses?

 

No we aren't going to fire a kicker every time he misses but he is tied for the most misses the last two years with Walsh in MN. Also Scobee sounds like he is not super confident right now and like the yips in golf once they start it is hard to correct. Keep in mind Scobee barely made the two that went in last night. He has been anything but solid this year for us. Time to give someone else a try. The Steelers could very easily be 4-0 or 3-1 with Suisham kicking.

It is time for tryouts and cut Scobee. How does Tomlin go back to Scobee if he doesn't trust him to make anything longer than 45 yds? Him not kicking it with a chance to end it in OT tells me all I need to know.

 

Scobee is not very good, but he didn't even get a chance to redeem himself because Tomlin has so little faith in him he'd rather go for it on 4th and 2 with a new to the Steelers playbook QB against a Ravens defense that was on fire. For that reason alone he needs to go (and I wouldn't cry if Tomlin left as well). I have no problem giving Reed a shot. I'm not sure why they let him go anyway. Is beating up a towel dispenser the worse a Steeler (or any NFL player) has done?!

 

Reed was missing a lot of FGs at the time, and his performances were erratic, plus off-field issues. Somewhat similar to Scobee, but without the towels.
