He was president, CEO and chairman as far back as DHB's draft.

i don't doubt he got faster since being in the league but i believe that was his time coming out of college. he wasn't a burner back then but always had a knack for getting open. he still does. his acceleration to full speed seems very good, so that alone shows to his quickness. add his quickness while at full speed and he can make guys look silly at times.

i agree that a lot of guys don't practice like others for their 40 times and it makes them look slower on paper but not at game speed. at any rate that .10 of a second doesn't mean a lot on the field usually. heck ike used to run in the 4.2 range or very low 4.3 range and it started to diminish as he aged, but was still darn fast. young legs seem to do better. of course you couldn't tell darrell green that.

As I stated back then I would still rather have have him than Wallace . I have no doubt he was on our board had the Raiders not have drafted him . Who knows how good he would be now had he came here instead of the Raiders ? I stated then that he had World Class speed and he blocked very well at the WR position. He has proved this in a Steelers uniform.

both were fast, but i think it worked out better that we got DHB while having richard mann than we would have , having him under scottie montgomery.

You are probably right, in a perfect World we would have had Mann and got DHB back then . Can you imagine a 30 or 40 % improved DHB with AB for the last 3 or 4 seasons . A true Nightmare ..

Dont' get me wrong, I like DHB and I'm happy that he's making progress. However, it would have been a colossal mistake for any team to draft him in the 1st round. His length to impact was just way too long for a 1st rounder, and it seemed obvious to me back than that was the case. The only position where you can allow for 3-4 years for a 1st rounder to hit his potential is a QB, and even then he'd better be at least decent pretty quickly in today's NFL.

I honestly don't remember where I had him graded back then, but it was definitely not the 1st round. I think I had him about even with Wallace.

I read an article today where AB told the other wideouts they "have to take it personal" when he draws double coverage. DHB said that comment had an impact on him and that it made him want to make plays for Ben even more. It's awesome that AB appears to be a good leader and motivator as well.

maybe DHB's success will even help bryant see things a little clearer. as in maybe your spot isn't as safe as you may think and you better get your act together soon. i hope this is the message sent to him.

Another positive game for DHB . Not sure what his role will be moving forward , but hopefully Haley will at least use him as a blocker . He has did a very good job of stepping up . DHB needs to be used as it looks we will be running more .

The tape clearly shows me that DHB can seperate a lot better than Wheaton , if a WR'S snaps are to be cut it should be Wheaton .

I really think it would be smart to trade Wheaton , esp. for a good kicker or a Safety .

Looks like some nice chemistry blossomed between DHB and Vick. I also wouldn't be opposed to trading Wheaton for a kicker/safety/CB
