It boils down to the missed field goals, but there were a few other things that we will likely overlook.

-Brown is a lot easier to cover without Bryant/Wheaton drawing attention of their own. The Ravens did not care about DBH or Coats. Brown also dropped the touchdown.

-Vick is still fresh and made several key mistakes, but, he didn't turn the ball over. This is really important to remember when evaluating Vick's performance.

-Haley thought that Vick could be a cute finesse QB like Ben with short quick timing throws. Vick's strengths are running and slinging it downfield. If you notice, Vick was running and slinging at the end of the first half when we were scoring some points and having success.

-We should have gone for the win at the end by being aggressive on SECOND DOWN to try to pick up a first down to run out the clock. Running Vick on a read option would have been effective. Running Bell up the middle into a wall is not effective.

-The kicker needs to be replaced because the coaching staff has no confidence in him to make a 49 yarder in deep overtime to win the game.

in a game like this Miller should have been used to pick up the short third and 4th plays. no need to throw to Brown a 10 yard pass on 4th down when you only need 1 yard to keep going.

so many chances to run out the clock with one first down and they sucked every time

4th and 1 and no Ben in ot....RUN the ****ing ball. Your best player is on the sideline. Let your second best take over.

This game falls on the kicker who's name will never be mentioned by me.

I'm going to add that the Ravens weren't so much covering Brown as it was Vick not looking his way and Haley not using the short week to prepare plays that highlight Brown but put him in position to move like with the pick plays we saw before or plays out of the bunch formation where the CB's have to try and choose the route. also that beauty of a run play where Decastro pulls and Miller follows as a lead blocker is good but the Ravens had it scouted and were countering it they needed one more blocker like Will J to make it work and Bell would have had more 20 yard carries

100% true but you have to work around that. 4th and 1 and go for it....good call when you have no confidence in your kicker. But jeeebus, run Bell in that situation.

I'd rather they lose because Bell gets stuffed on 4th and 1 than Vick throwing a duck.

Our offense didn't go the way I thought it would go. I thought we would just run heavy and only throw when we had to? If we got lev bell to dominate the game early we could have had Vick throw it on play action deep?...?

or at least throwing a quick slant to multiple receivers on one side. heck I thought thats what having big bodies were for, boxing the CB out on quick slants

If they ran it every play with bell in the last two drives they wouldn't of had to go for it on 4th down. 10 seconds left. Nope lets throw it....

Ravens saved a crucial timeout due to a incomplete pass

We lost because we extended Tomlin knowing he's a terrible game manager. We lost because Sushi tried to make a tackle in the ****ing HOF game. We lost because Colbert had the audacity to bring in that scumbag garbage "QB". We lost because the NFL has made it acceptable to take dirty shots on Ben.

And teams are allowed to hold the Steelers with impunity.

What's PI and defensive holding for one team, isn't for the Steelers when they're on offense.

A ref can see a Steeler's defensive hold away from the play, but can't see a blatant facemask right in front of him.

Because Tomlin has a knack for playing not to lose. Which almost always backfires lately.

Because too many defensive players don't know how to #^#&^ing tackle.

Because if something's working, by God, we'll go away from it!

Because our defense likes to admire the scoreboard when we take a sizeable lead and forgets to, oh, I don't know, PLAY DEFENSE for a few series until the score's close again.

Because our offense does the same damned thing.

Tomlin has never been able to manage the clock and understand situational football. Tonight was no different. We seriously need a clock mgmt expert on our sideline to help Tomlin. He has proven to be totally inept in this regard.

Yes there were missed field goals and that didnt help, but ultimately when your QB cant hit wide open guys when needed, that is also a problem. Not giving Scooby a break because he shoulders part of this, but not all!

It wasnt the run defense....it wasnt Vick...It wasnt the coaches....IT WAS Josh SCOOBY DOO and #33 for the ratbirds. He prevented Brown and Bell from taking it to the house. And that dump off to Bell and he tackled him immediately ...which caused a 4th and 1.

It's rather simple. We lost because our kicker missed two field goals. After that we continued to lose because of poor play calling.

I'm going to add one more thing - Run defense was bad. Either our defensive coaches did not allow for the possibility that Forsett would cut back against the zone blocking direction, or our inside LBs and safeties consistently failed to follow coaches instructions. Either way, it's puzzling because that's what Forsett does best behind their blocking scheme. Secondly, when the Ravens did run successfully with the flow of the blocking (i.e. not a cutback), it seemed like it was usually against Cam Thomas as the nose. Cam was starting to look OK at times in the preseason, but now he remembers that he's Cam ^#^%# Thomas. Useless player, and I was getting so sick of seeing the RB get tackled 8-10 yards downfield - and there's Cam T. in the picture still fighting with the offensive lineman 8-10 yards down the field. Others weren't so hot inside either, but he once again stood out as the worst.
