Without Big Ben, it's on the defense. We have to pressure Flacco and SLOW DOWN Steve Smith. I am confident we can get the necessary points with our offense, but if we can't keep the pressure and slow down Smith, it's going to be a long day at Heinz field.

Can't hand the ball to Bell if we are getting torched by their offense.

But we can keep their offense off the field if we are handing the ball to Bell.

Ring the BELL, get Antonio the ball where he has a chance to do something with it. Mike Vick uses his ability to run.

Come out on offense firing on all cylinders. Empty sets, 4 wide, trips...etc...we have to come out attacking. I think they will be expecting us to play it vanilla and run-run-run, but if we try to man up with these guys and punch them in the mouth, we'll lose. We can't lay down and hope for a win. Stagger them early with some downfield action, then settle it down a little once they realize we won't back off because Ben is out.

with the weapons we still have on offense, i'm not sure the game plan changes much with the idiot playing. shouldn't be much more pressure on the D than it would be otherwise.

Just hope we don't try to continually run Bell up the middle. We have never been able to run against the Ravens well. Even though they do not have Nagata, we don't have Pouncy. Need to have short passes, roll outs, screens, etc. Not sure they can accomplish this on a short week.

Even though we have a decent offense, we are not known to make quick adjustments, similar to last year when Bell went down, we did not have an answer with a full week, let alone a short week.

I think that Vick can still play well enough to help us win a couple of games. We should easily be able to mix up the run and pass to keep the Ratbirds guessing and if our D continues the trend of improving every week we should be able to hold them off and get a win.

Let's not forget that they are 0-3 coming into this game.

We cant just go one dimensional with Bell, vick has to mix some passes into this game, he is a good deep ball thrower and as long as he doesnt fumble the ball he should be OK, quit dangling the ball out in space with his left hand, haley should have noticed this defect after he fumbled it yesterday, luckily bell fell on it or we could have lost the game, use screens and draws, because hairball will be blitzing coming off the bus....

I don't see us winning this game with dumb---- playing. I don't think we can score enough points. I'll still bet, but not on the Steelers and not on the over. I will be surprised if we win more than one game out of the next four. That's not being negative, that's just the way I see it. Hope I'm wrong but I don't think so. We need to get through the next four to five weeks and then see if we can make a run to get to the playoffs,

i agree about vick and ball security. he's a turn over machine. we should gain a little if he makes a few runs on them, thats something they are not used to from us. it could bottle their defense up a little trying to keep him in the pocket, but that should free bell and heath up a little in the short passing game. we seem to hurt them with those dump offs. add vicks running and we could leave them paying for some blitz's. at least that's what i'm going with.:smiley1::cool:

Well said, I too believe Vick still has the speed in his legs to force their defense to play honest, and not sell out, if that is the case, the possibilities are are there for a mice game for the offense. I still believe! It's the rats! Gonna be solober-knocker!

I know when we play Baltimore that you can usually toss all the statistics away...but this is not the Ravens of old. I mean the RAIDERS scored like 37 points against them. Vick just came into a game totally cold against what is easily the best Defensive front in all the NFL, and on the road. I know it is a short week but, with a few days to now prepare, and at HOME, and going against a Defense that is hardly the Rams defense will make a world of difference. It might, and likely will be a Dogfight...( No Vick pun Intended )...but If we get the win...Ugly or not...I will be a Happy Camper.!!

The key to the game is Haley . Vick can be effective as a tier type QB . We will need to run the ball and we will need to boot Vick out of those same running plays. On those we will need a Tier passing Tree with curls and outs on the boot side and Drags,Crossing,Arrow routes coming to the QB. The key is to give the QB reads on that half of the field which does some good things for a QB . It makes his reads much easier. It gets him out of the pocket where guys can't strip the ball as easy , it gives the QB the run option if there, or the throw the ball away option.

This is the smartest and best game plan for a Vick type of QB.

I say we can be 2d by also handing the ball to Williams. LOL. I really do think we can win this game.

One of the keys to beating the Rats may be our secret weapon and that's Jordan Berry with all the flack our coaches get from most of us on some of their player personnel decisions we gotta give credit where credit is due. He has become a weapon for us and he may have had a bigger effect on yesterday's win as anyone else....man he hit some howitzers to keep them pinned deep. In what is usually a tight game between two rivals he could be the difference maker......

I think this is one of the worst possible games Vick could start, all this talk about Baltimore not being Baltimore anymore, phooey. They will absolutely play us tough, only chance is if the defense plays lights out like last week.

I think we lose this one and I think it will be pretty ugly. I think Vick will need to get a game under his belt before possibly leading them to any victories. The short week isnt much chance to game plan around him.

Not certain - but I did notice Vick almost got a couple of our receivers killed the other day. Too slow of a windup gives the DBs time to react and prepare for the hit.

I tend to agree. Although (and I HATE HATE HATE saying this because I don't think it has any place in the Pros, nor do I believe our O has practiced it to any extent... but) with 3 solid runners in Williams, Bell & Vick, running a few plays out of the Wildcat wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to slow down the Ravens pass rush. Something to think about I suppose...
