But wait... I thought JJ was the injury prone one? now we can discuss how out of shape, not big enough, etc. etc. he is.

I'm sure Spence and Williams will fill in fine. ;)

The defense looked better last week and seemed to be moving in a good direction. Now Shazier's out?

Hate to see this. Our D finally looks good and probably the biggest reason it did is now out for Sunday. Only silver lining is he should be 100% and fresh to go for our short week game against the ratbirds on Thursday. Time for Spence to step it up this week. The guy was always around the ball in college and he's looked decent so far this season.

If Vince Williams knows the position I'd rather start him than Spence as I think he matches up better to what the Rams want to do (run the ball).

I wonder if the short week is part of the reasoning behind ruling him out.

I was wondering about that as well. We need him against Baltimore more than the rams. The way the rams like to run the ball and they have a big back is Gurly so at least that plays into Williams strength.

One thing is for certain, there are only a few positions where we could count on next man up confidently, and this is one of them. Sure, we'll likely lose a little production, but after reading all the comments about how he's glass, etc. I decided to google and search for all the NFL teams' Week 3 Injury reports. Needless to say, ours is not much different than most other teams. I think there were only 3 or 4 that didn't have any "ruled out" players, and many had more "ruled out" than the two we have. And, many more have a laundry list of players listed as doubtful or questionable.

So, as much as anyone wants to criticize Tomlinism's like "Next Man Up", the fact is that every team in the league is dealing with some sort of injury situation. And the sites I looked at didn't even list players like Suggs, Pouncey, etc. who are simply out for an extended period of time. I imagine most team's lists mostly grow over the season as well, vs. decrease.

Personally, I love that we can rotate our ILB's and OLB's instead of having one guy who takes 95% of the snaps. Just find a way to win Steelers!

It's a reference to the movie Unbreakable. In the movie, the character shown in the picture has a rare condition that makes it so that he's easily injured.
    He calls himself Mr Glass.

Disappointing but bearable as long as it's not super serious.

Lol at mr. Glass... They're probably holding him out for the Ravens game. The league needs to do away with Thursday ball in my opinion.... True there is a bigger break after the game, but the short week isn't helping these guys at all. Some aren't even mobile until weds. Just the facts.

I hope Ryan is ready to go against the Cravens...

I always cringe, when I hear coaches say "He was just dinged, nothing serious, here.."...

Like Tomlin said after the game last week, about Shazier..

They never tell the truth, and I don`t blame them, but it always leaves me wondering how bad the injury is...

On the bright side, this is probably the position with the most depth we have on the team, but,

Shazier, showed exactly how much damage he can do, when healthy, last week...

Hope we get him back sooner, rather than later, and at close to 100%!!!:butcher::dfense::steelflag:

    GO STEELERS!

I agree. This is a huge bummer. We need our best players on the field. Do they know what the actual injury is?

    M. Knight is horrible. Unbreakable should be called Unbearable. That is all. LOL. Also it is lame that Shazier is hurt. It's like 2 steps forward 2 steps back or something.

If they keep putting up games like they did last night they will do away with it. Imagine these morons thinking it would be good to go to an 18 game regular season and have people playing on Thursdays, Sundays, Mondays, and even Saturdays in playoff time. That's why I say the "player safety" thing is pure sanctimony.
